Re: Official Match Thread - Wales vs. All Blacks

Here's a Welsh XV of injured players (or tomorrow's substitutes who are coming back from injury). We're stretched very thin tomorrow. Liam Williams George North Jonathan Davies James Hook/Jamie Roberts Keelan Giles Sam Davies Gareth Davies Samson Lee Scott Baldwin Gethin Jenkins Luke Charteris Brad ...

Re: Official Match Thread - Wales vs. All Blacks

It's a Wales B vs All Blacks B, so not a lot to get excited about for us Taffs. The Welsh team is unrecognizable and we don't have the depth of playing talent to make up for the missing first teamers. Not looking forward to this at all.

Re: Jon Davies Official Lions player of the series

Why is he called JD2? Was there an older one? https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jonathan_Davies_(rugby%2C_born_1962) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rt4AIRMzJ2o Every time I watch this video, I am almost in tears over the greatest fly-half Wales never had. Sure, he played a few games for Wales during a...

Re: Congratulations to Warren Gatland

Beyond the great result in the field he also did a lot of positive work in rebuilding the brand and reputation without taking a step back. He has completely buried the ghosts of 2005. This. Great cameraderie, no squad infighting, great bonding with the local citizenry..... what a difference to prev...

Re: OFFICIAL All Blacks vs B&I Lions THIRD TEST MATCH THREAD

It's about time somebody gave Gatland credit. He coached a Lions series victory in Australia and now battled the best team in the world to a standstill. He was ripped by the NZ press and by way too many on here - the shameless swarm who still can't forgive him for making the right call re. O'Driscol...

Itoje was magnificent today. Davies and Warburton too. Davies has barely put a foot wrong in the series and is MOTS for me.

Re: So who's going to win test 3 and the series?

We have momentum. - NZ have lost several key players to thuggery and injury. - Ref is a Frenchie who will want a NH win. - Maro Itoje. Yeah, but you know deep down that Gatland is going to select every available Welshman in the squad for the final test and then go and ask a few more 'in the vicinit...

Re: Will Gatland start Webb?

Webb came in when the game was already lost so had licence to do whatever he wanted. Murray had to be more tactical. Murray however lacked confidence to dictate the play as he should have. Murray should've run more but not over do it. Webb snipes too much and nowhere the class of Murray . What utte...

Re: OFFICIAL All Blacks vs B&I Lions FIRST TEST MATCH THREAD

Lions' half-backs were completely outplayed. As predicted, Farrell was gash at 10. No pace or quick feet, just a plodding passer and good kicker. Couldn't do those things right either tonight. Don't know if the lack of spark outside him convinced Murray to rely on kick-and-hope tactics but that did...

Re: Lions Team for 1st Test

You really have to stop with the snotty ad hominems just because I happen to disagree with you. It doesn't make you look good. No, I was not a forward (I played for years as an oafish centre) and I understand back play just fine thanks. The clips you show confirm to me that Sexton is the right man ...

Re: Lions Team for 1st Test

Mostly OK with this team... except.... Farrell for Sexton. Farrell is a very good kicker and has solid defence but offers little else. I just don't get the Farrell hero worship from the English posters. He's solid and dependable but that's it. Certainly not a creative choice. I would have much pref...

Re: Farrell gooooooooone

Sexton is pretty much the best defensive 10 out there. Not sure where Jake is going with this. Sure, he's had his injury issues and if the worry is just that he'll break, fair enough, but he's not a step down from Farrell in defence at all. Oh God, I despair. You can criticize both Farrell and Bigg...
