Re: Joseph Suaalii to quit Roosters, join rugby on monster deal
Joey Manu (a better player IMO than Suaalii) is off to play in Japan next year. NZ Kiwis star Joseph Manu has confirmed he will switch from league to rugby, when he joins Japanese club side Toyota Verblitz after this NRL season. Manu, 27, had previously hinted at the move, but has now officially inf...

Quick poll. How many here ride a bike to work? Don't get me wrong, I love cycling but it's a recreational pursuit for me. No way cycling to and from work is convenient in any way shape or form for me. Let's hear from all you regular posters? I do probably 85-90% of the week. Only drive if its raini...

Looks like the stand off between the NZR Board and the NZRPA are about to step up a notch. Dame Patsy Reddy and the board she chairs blew that lid skyward like a wayward rocket last week when the board turned the 134-page Pilkington Report into yet another expensive door-stopper. It should not be su...

The 2024 Super Rugby Pacific season will be Fergus Burke's last with the Crusaders. The 24-year-old has signed a three-year deal with London-based club Saracens. More chat from behind the NZH paywall.. It would seem reports of the death of the National Provincial Championship’s broadcast contract are greatly exaggerated, and news that the plug will be pulled in 2026 was treated with as much surprise within Sky as it was everywhere else. The NPC is likely to ...

Re: The state of the NZRU..
I think jtah's point is that the Warriors and SOO are loved, not the NRL in general, the viewership for it is poor and only spiked by the hype train in years like last year solely focused on the Warriors. Therefore, expecting NRL to fill the void is unrealistic. I personally don't mind what NZRU do...

Posting this up as its behind the paywall on NZH. Gregor Paul's take on the NZ Rugby Union drama, its a long post so bear with me... Rugby administration stories don’t fire the imagination.
