Re: The Official Irish Rugby Thread
No mention of Frawley in injury report. Ryan sounds like he might be available this weekend. If be safe and rest him anyway. Frawley looked pretty special at the weekend. The way he took the ball flat and passed inside to Connors in the build up to the last (?) try in the first half stood out. Hope...

Re: Irish rugby legend calls for British & Irish League
Quinlan says he wants to see the best players, like Larmour, playing in Irish derbies.
Maybe Larmour wouldn't have been playing to score the Pro14 try of the decade back in 2017 if the 'best players' were playing back then.

Re: The Official Irish Rugby Thread
There's an easy enough fix if Munster need more carriers in their pack. Pick a backrow of 6. Stander, 7. O'Mahony, 8. Botha. I can't see them beating racing with JOD at 7 and POM at 6. How much more of the POM at blindside, Stander at 8 and someone who isn't SOB or Leavy at 7 do they need to see fai...

Re: The Official Irish Rugby Thread
Agree with Jumper. O'Mahony has always been suspect at blindside. When he doesn't have a freak openside beside him he gets exposed.
He should focus on openside himself and leave blindside to players who actually have the physical ability to play the position.

Re: The Official Irish Rugby Thread
If Munster had Leinster's backrow resources they'd probably be picking Max Deegan at openside all the time and Connors and Penny - equivalent to Jack Daly and John Hodnett - wouldn't have been brought through at all. Munster's backrow selections are all over the place, and it's a big problem for Ire...

Re: Officially official Munster Vs Leinster thread
It's to be expected with a guy of 6'9''. Defenders are sometimes going to get under him and drive him back. It's just physics. Sometimes those ones where the guy is put back like that lead to very fast ball and can actually be quite useful for the attack.

Fair comment on VDF, I haven’t seen him since the WC but have been impressed with Connors instead. Two of the Spiv Cup, Lyon away and Northampton away, he was the best player on the park by an absolute mile. Yep - which is why I think/hope Connors will end up as a six - a he gets a bit bigger/stron...

Re: Officially official Munster Vs Leinster thread
Why did Hanrahan (?) cut in when it looked to be on to counterattack after the Porter knock on in the Munster 22? I didn't see a replay but it looked as if he could have freed the outside man down the wing if he ran a bit of an arc and drew Adam Byrne before passing.

Re: Officially official Munster Vs Leinster thread
I'm seeing a bit of criticism for Darren O'Shea for the way he was tackled backwards by Cronin and Connors. But he takes out two defenders and sets up quick ruck ball. Not necessarily a disadvantage for Munster.
