Re: Crusaders vs Highlanders: MATCH THREAD: Sunday 9th Aug

I think AC mentioned it earlier but I would have no qualms if Robertson sent a C team up to battle the blues. I mean it’s a nothing game really. Disagree. This has been an outstanding display of the Kiwi game at the very best level that we can play it. That game today was outstanding open play as w...

Re: Crusaders vs Highlanders: MATCH THREAD: Sunday 9th Aug

Watched that game on my Samsung phone on SkyGo in a camping ground in Haast. Keep dropping out and missed parts of the game. But it was obvious who the standout players were and who would walk straight into an AB team if we had one. Shannon Frizell now several games in a row he is consistently showi...

Re: SR Aotearoa 'Team of the Week' Round 8

You’re asking the question from the wrong angle mate... Do we want two ALB’s or two Jack Goodhues? Having two clearly talented players able to play both midfield roles should excite everyone who has faith the coaching panel would be able to capitalise on that... oooh. Damn. Correct. If we were play...

Re: Super Rugby Rd 7. Blues Vs Chiefs

Jeez it’s frustrating watching that Chiefs backline running like headless chocks. Seeing ALB missing tackles and getting chopped down by forwards is disheartening. Trask might be the future but constant basic errors are not acceptable. It might be a better bet getting the old fella on there and be s...

Basic school boy errors early from the Chiefs giving territory to the Blues. ALB is having a shocker at centre on defence missing tackles and as the senior not organizing that midfield

He’s the best 15 in NZ at the moment.
I'd go as far to say as the best player.
In terms of influence in a game he is already setting the marker as Aotearoa player of the year.

The odds look about right. The Canes look ok but as long as Goodhue wears the GOATs invisibility cloak and remains offside all day, the Canes backs wont function. Spot on comment. Goodhue is our best midfielder along with ALB. Ennor is a lose. This is the contest that will decide a large part of th...

Re: Stuart Barnes: Drop Otere Black and play Barrett at no.1

I think it's questionable to say BB is a better first five than Black. I will say he's definitely a better fullback than Black, which is why I think MacDonald and co have the mix right at the moment. Since 2017 there have been big question marks about Barrett's distribution and tactical kicking ski...

All the hype about Will Jordan is irrelevant. Yes he is a future AB fullback, but regardless that Saders backline named for this game is solid class. Certainly a.better balance to that Saders backline with Reece on his wing and Jordan at fullback. Good effort by the leaders in that Landers team to take it deep but this is a well structured and coached Saders team as can be seen as they have easily eliminated the massive ill discipline and poor se...

50 22 if you bounce the ball over the sideline. You could park a pogo stick at each 5 meter line and score a triple try for bouncing over the tryline. Clever plums these Aussies. Don’t let any of the muppets anywhere near the IRB.

Probably only one you could have a debate about is first five. And you could honestly make a case for all four starting first fives. All played well but had a few negatives. Very happy with Chiefs improvement but clinical Saders again. Easy to hand MoM out to the likes of the finishers like Jordan. But in wet weather arm wrestles like that Sam Whitelock was a standout with doing the donkey work at a very improved lineout, kick receives and general leadership.
