Re: Wallabies 2024 (2023 never happened)

John Eales was not a hard man but would be regarded as one of Australia’s best ever if not the best in the second row. There is much more to it than channeling your inner Bakkies Botha. Eales' personality wasn't hard but he played hard. He could hold his own in the physical stuff. But that's not th...

Re: Moana Pasifika v Highlanders @ Nuku ‘Alofa - Yesterday

Terrible weather but an interesting game and crowd. Someone needed to knock the ground announcer out though, he was punishing. As Auckman alluded to, the ground held up really well given the downpour. They deliberately moved local games elsewhere to keep the ground in tip top shape. Not that they w...

 he was acetsfde at best and very soft. Is he your version of hard man? Not hard. But if you're not a hard man then at least perform the fundamentals and have a high work rate. That was Simmons. He was barely adequate. I'd pick the current locks in Australia over him. I saw him lots at London ...

Re: Wallabies 2024 (2023 never happened)

The problem with Australian forwards is that they haven't taken the next step and get roided. Perhaps set up a secret clinic in Arnhem Land where they go for a 'break' and come back looking like Brock Lesnar. WTF. Problem with Australian forwards is not the size. If I’ve got a general complaint about Bernie, it’s that he’s overly conservative Waited too long to change it up. Now that he has finally, look at the results.. Maybe he's overcompensating. It would take him years to add 10kg and he’d lose speed and agility. How would his style, which was the primary ball distributor, suit the role filled by Neil Back? The closest to a straight swap would be RL hooker to RU scrum-half. Passing off the ground is their bread and butter, plus they have to be able to run in traffic and tackle big fellas. Half ack ftom leahue to union would be unsuitable because space is given to the leahue halfback to pass. They usually take a step. You need to pass off the ground from union. It's down to the individual but habits is hard to change.
