It's a combo that I think could be one Rassie is planning long-term. But a big match to test it, as neither have been in their best form of late (although Moody did well on Saturday).

That's a bit harsh. 30 is hardly Dad's Army age.

The way Boland and Griquas play, and the matches at local clubs, could really bring the Currie Cup up again. I really enjoyed this weekend's matches.

The Good: I thought Ox and Marx were immense. Polly brought some much needed calmness and stability, although I'm surprised we didn't kick more at them. Some of these results are bonkers. Sharks looked much better, despite the loss. Our front row look terrible, but everyone else seemed to step up. Our 14 looks very good, like a young Nkosi. The only decent rugby show I follow in SA is whatever Jean de Villiers, Schalk Burger and Hanyani Shimange are doing. The shows seem to have different names. Excellent analysis, well balanced opinions from three greats of South African rugby.

The rugby media landscape (I don't want to call it journalism) is in the gutter.
It's so hard to find decent articles on matches, incidentally the only good ones are on paid sites which highlights the problem.
It's like you have to be outrageous to get clicks and views.

We've definitely built some depth, but that is slightly deceptive.
I think we have strength for 3 decent teams. 5 is a stretch; the 5th one looks like a mid-table URC team.
