Re: The *official* Joe Rogan podcast thread

Rogan triumphantly cheered that “TEXAS WENT RED BITCH! WOOOOOOOOOO!” during his recent election special. I don’t know how anyone who watched Rogan back in the day can claim with a straight face he hasn’t taken a noticeable right turn over the last couple of years. He really seems like someone that h...

Re: Quinton De Kock will not kneel

OK fine, if you want to go with that. I can see why being forced to not show pride in the flag and anthem (or flag or anthem of another country which would be even more absurd) might grate a professional sportsman. You could make anti-racism gestures without sending that specific message Gibberish ...

Re: Quinton De Kock will not kneel

The undertone is exactly what he said : “ I am not going to stand up to show pride in a flag for a country that oppresses black people and people of color.” That is showing the opposite of respect isn’t it? If you’re telling people to kneel, that is the specific statement they are being coerced int...

Re: Quinton De Kock will not kneel

Isn’t ‘taking the knee’ gesture meant to specifically be to show shame/disrespect to the national anthem (ie. to instead of being proud of the national anthem display the opposite?). No-one (I suspect) would be against making statements against racism or supporting initiatives promoting equality etc...

The original Halloween came on the other night, first time I’d seen it in decades, it was comically bad to the point it took me right out of it. Even the iconic theme music sounded a lot tinnier and weaker than I remember.

I would have taken these results every time if you had asked me before the series started. I'll lose faith once the trophy cabinet starts to clear out.

Re: Rugby Championship: Springboks vs All Blacks: MATCH THREAD: Sat 2nd Oct

So positives for the All Blacks. Jordie Barrett has really emerged as a class fullback. Savea was good tonight, as was Weber. Negatives Tuipolotu, and our bench props are not up to it. Anton Leinert Brown and Luke Jackobson are ok squad members but not the players we should be building the spine of...

The 50/20 rule is a load of crap though. Yeah not sure if it was just because it went against my team tonight but I almost think its a solution to a problem that doesn't exist. A long deep keep to touch is already a solid tactical advantage. Kinda feels like they're just changing rules to look like...

Re: Rugby Championship: Springboks vs All Blacks: MATCH THREAD: Sat 2nd Oct

Do you think they were good calls? I thought the call at the end of the first half was a shocker, and had a big influence, and I thought he let SA tacklers not roll in the second. The Steyn one was harsh. The rest my impression was that NZ got pinged for the slightest offside and SA less so, but th...

Just a random thought that occurred to me...fudge that crosskick Barrett did from our 22 after having zero possession for about the last quarter was braindead. That is all.

Re: Rugby Championship: Springboks vs All Blacks: MATCH THREAD: Sat 2nd Oct

Both sides pissed at the ref means he did a fine job. Leaving the feet with a half minute to go cost the match. I had no trouble with the ref. Missed a few things but all refs do. Had a good game. No. The last 10 minutes was too much about the ref. Yeah it felt a bit like he gave a lot of easy pena...

As good as Beauden has been this game, it'll be bloody interesting to see Mo'unga coming on with 30 to go and Beauden at the back. Why would you put BB at the back? Might be a bit more potent vs tired legs, that's the question with Beauden I guess. He's hard to leave out but RRmo is a better first 5.

Referee has been excellent Yeah no issues really, he's controlled it well. Been good but that last penalty when Faf didn't release was a shocker, gave 6 points to the boks. As long as refs don't try and be the man of the match and completely ruin a game they get a pass from me, I set a low bar thes...

A double pump from the lineout thrower, I might be on drugs I thought it was a rule, but I can't find a single reference to the laws on it anywhere.

Because its not a lineout.
Oh ok, so it's only when the lineout is formed?
