Re: NZ Politics Thread
I don't think the Greens are in free fall, a couple of bad eggs doesn't mean the whole party is rotten. I just agree with other posters that they set the bar so high with their holier than thou preaching to the rest of us that a couple of incidents as serious as these two makes them look really bad...

Why the 6 week cover up by the Greens leadership though? Similar to GG. I would have thought the best course of action is to suspend the MP, pending an investigation, as soon as the allegations come to light. Its becoming endemic of the green party.. Is it though? Not gonna get into whataboutery, b...

Re: NZ Politics Thread
To be fair it's a world wide property issue, not just a NZ centric one. I think both Nats and Labour know CGT is a soundbite only with little to no effectiveness. As with other systemic issues, I don't know that there is an answer. Not one we could easily put into practice anyway. Health, education...

Re: NZ Politics Thread
So landlords who bought 20 years ago and have no mortgage are not charging the full rents - i.e. their costs are lower and they are passing this on to tenants. Yeah, right. Supply and demand set the rental costs, not interest deductibility. Well they will have more discretionary to spend at cafes ,...
