Re: Hurricanes 2024. The Midget is gone!

Yeah, it's an odd one this one. You almost feel like the coaches should approach it with one eye to the play-offs. Then again there's enough time before that to rest or do AB protocols if needed and they should just go for it and see what unfolds as a learning.

Re: War in Ukraine...

I'd missed the announced delivery of 50/month of the French AASM-250 glide bombs. Now that's the kind of ongoing supply Ukraine needs at this juncture. Not batch units of this and that, but a steady stream of continuous significant attrition that isn't manpower dependent.

Crusaders starting to look like they mean business. Today might be a bit messy, but then they'll get it together and be a dangerous opponent capable of beating anyone going forward.

Re: China vs Taiwan Official Match thread

Drones are orders of magnitude cheaper than the interceptors. The shit exchange equation is a problem. That said, china can make life miserable on Taiwan with ranges weapons, but landing troops there is totally different. The stated aim from Beijing is it reintegrate Taiwan, that requires boots on ...

Think Churchill and U-Boats. Britain was that close to capitulating without a single soldier ever setting foot on their shores. Taiwan would have to do the same. Re: China vs Taiwan Official Match thread

I wouldn't disagree that saying Xi will do this in the next few years is doomsdaying. Rather though what I'm trying to say is that Xi is going to be in position to be able to acheive an annexing of Taiwan in a way that wasn't really feasible only a few short years ago. What he does with the potentia...

Re: China vs Taiwan Official Match thread

Righto, so what are the repercussions for China once they've launched their 20,000 drones? Good question. Personally I don't think there'll be any they can't deal with. There are US troops there? They go to war with the US? The US will lose a Falkland Island type situation trying to protect Taiwan....

Think you are putting a bit too much stock in drone warfare. Drones only pose a threat in Ukraine because they don't have great AA defences. Which puts Germany in firm second place in terms of aid. The grenade launchers and ammo are something Ukraine can't get enough of - good to see that. Not enough artillery ammo though that needs to be qualified as to just what type it is.
