Re: 2016 Ryder Cup - 30/09-02/10 Hazeltine
My own short take on it, sorry if I repeat what has been side before... Going 4-0 down in the first session was the worst start possible from which we recovered not too badly...I thought we had a fair chance before the singles and was disappointed that Mc Ilroy and Rose did not get anything in the s...

Re: The Official Scottish Rugby Thread
At just 24 I wouldn't write Weir off as an option yet. But at the same time I probably wouldn't consider him as an option until he regularly performs for Edinburgh. Not convinced Horne is a long term option at 10 but his last two performances after a poor cameo v Italy mean he deserves consideratio...

Brown had an assist, 5 linebreaks, 7 go forward, 2 tackles, 6 kicks caught and 1 lost possession. Hogg had a try, an assist, 5 go forward, 2 tackles, 1 goal kick, 1 catch. No linebreaks. Looks like they need to give more points for a try than some bollocksy line breaks. Hey ho, i doubt there are ma...

He needs someone pushing him day in day out. He had it at Glasgow. Sale and Castres it's been too easy for him. It was noticeable that he improved the longer the RWC went on and he had his brother, teammates, coaches etc. motivating him. I'm expecting the same this Six Nations - he'll contribute mo...

I haven't rewatched it yet but I'm sure that Hogg shouted "Finn" when Finn got the intercept. Perhaps he didn't hear him but I know some guys who play pro rugby who have phenomenal spatial awareness, including knowing where other players are without seeming to look. The way I see it, Hogg was fine,...

The knock down yellow was also wrong, it was borderline, he almost managed to knock the ball sideways. It should have been warning and penalty. Definitely what Nige would have done.... I reckon this is also part of the pb...before the QF this was on paper the most foregone conclusion...so they gave...

Re: QF score predictions
My humble take on this... SA vs Wales, SA's A team did not have a proper test yet, just as well as losing to Japan and being in a pool of death would have had them out, their record up to the RWC is not good. With Wales we are in "Rocky Balboa" land each game. I will only go for SA marginally as the...

The breakdown in general is a f@cking joke these days. It's an accident waiting to happen. The amount of neckrolls that happen and go unpunished is frightening. Something needs to change. Not to mention pepper not issuing a yellow with 18 penalties...that did not help the situation either but that ...

Can we agree we won't play as badly vs Oz? Surely we can't. WTF was the complete lack of ability at the kick-off. And try line defence. So much of that is due to coaching and such basic things were done so badly perhaps provides some hope. Thought Russell had a howler too, which I hope reflects his...

Some thoughts on the game which I have now rewatched. Firstly, South Africa played their game the way we should have expected them to play it with real physicality and ferocity. If I was going to wrap anyone in cotton wool it would be the props. But it has to be the strongest team. We've got a real chance of topping the group. Yep.
