Re: Rookies to watch in Super Rugby 2020?

Chocobares is now officially the greatest name in sporting, overtaking baseball's Coco Crisp.

Great thread southern lads. Always handy to get some pointers ahead of the soup season.

Re: IS TESLA GOING BUST

Didn't Tesla just overtake Volkswagen in value this week? Not bad for a company going bust. You know stock market value and company solvency are not one and the same thing, right? Tesla has been loss making every year of its 17 year existence. It's history of negative free cash flow is impressively...

Re: Official NFL 2019

Horrible showing from the Rams in Dallas on both sides of the ball. Season over. Probably no bad thing, since sneaking into playoffs might allow for some crack papering. Goff was terrible today, having been good the past 2 weeks. Snead has some hard choices to make over the winter and maybe Kroenke...

Re: The OFFICIAL English and European Football (soccer) thre

Seems Arsenal are about to go with Arteta as manager. Bit of a risk but one worth taking at this stage. I wonder how much of the deadwood can be cleared out in January (Luiz, Sokratis, Xhaka, Ozil, Kolasinic, it's quite a list of dross).

Re: Official NFL 2019

The risk for a team like the Ravens (or 49ers), where they sort of come out of nowhere to be good, is that at around this stage of the season teams start figuring them out. With Baltimore, the Bills had success slowing them down by stuffing the box and trusting their corners to shut the passing opti...

Gurley ices the game and all is well in the world once more. Rams looking at 8-5 (barring a Russell Wilson miracle from here). Currently that Zuerlain missed sitter in week 5 is the difference between which of these teams is in the playoffs and which misses out. Hoping the Vikings come unstuck again...

Re: Official NFL 2019

Sorry, my bad, I glanced at NFL.com but had the filters set wrong. Like 8 or 9 of the 11 Steelers starters on defense are first round picks. But is it really important you get them on first pick? Re: Official NFL 2019

Like 8 or 9 of the 11 Steelers starters on defense are first round picks. Steelers have the same 6-5 record as the Rams & rank lower on points allowed per game (25th in the league), so I'm not sure that stat bears out the idea that 1st round picks are so important. Re: Official NFL 2019

I would say dealing Marcus Peters and giving up all their first round picks for Ramsey wasn’t a great move. Kroeneke's career record as an owner is not the best. That's a little harsh when we are reigning NFC Champions. We went all-in for the Superbowl and came up short. It happens. See also Caroli...

I would say dealing Marcus Peters and giving up all their first round picks for Ramsey wasn’t a great move. Peters did not fit Wade Phillips style of defense. He's a zone cover guy and Wade wanted him to play man. He was frankly shit at that. He fits the Baltimore style much better. Ramsey has been...

Re: Official NFL 2019

The Rams issues are: 1) The league figured out McVay's schemes from around week 13 last year (Lions). Our offense began to struggle (aside from the gimmie against Arizona) and was shut down completely by Bellicheck in the Superbowl. 2) Gurley got broken right after we signed him to the long term dea...

When the public lose confidence and trust in the police, society dies. Does everyone in that society have to lose confidence for that statement to be true? Half, quarter, one or two? That's the old 'Ship of Theseus' question. Trust someone old enough to remember the original boat to come up with it.
