I personally would like to see Matt Todd given a chance. His whole career was spent playing second fiddle to Richie McCaw and it's only fair that this three-time Super Rugby Champion, eight-time NPC winner be given his time to shine.

Cane will start in his last home game, which doubles as his 100th. Interesting to see if Papalii really is out of favour with Razor and, if so, who they bring in as Cane's replacement once he leaves. I'm hoping it'll be Lakai but based on Razor's track record it'll probably be Tom Christie or Lio-Wi...

Chay Fihaki called into the squad this week. Goodness gracious we are scraping around if that's the calibre of player we are calling in. He's trying to establish his halves pairing, making the most of the limited talent at his disposal. Hard to bed down a 9 and 10 if you're simultaneously chopping and changing the midfield as well.
Fair point.

Is a running, elusive fullback less desirable at All Black level than it was before ? It seems we go for guys who have played a lot of 10 and move them to the back so we can utilise their boots: Perofeta, McKenzie, Jordie (not a 10, but a reliable kicker), Beauden just off the top of my head. Will J...

Re: All Blacks 2024

Question: During the 2005-2015 period, would any of you have considered playing McCaw and Carter off the bench? (assuming that both players were match fit and injury free at the time) Never, because we had so much depth. McCaw hardly ever got subbed and neither would DC if he wasn't so injury prone.

It was obvious Sam Cane knew he was playing his last game against the Boks. Wish he'd play like that every week but appreciate the toll on the body. Not sure Sititi fits the "both sides of the ball" ethos Robertson has talked about. Great with ball in hand but average on defence. Liked what Ratima b...

As much as I believe the size of our pack is an issue, it overlooks our biggest issue: Damien McKenzie just isn't that good. He's a 7/10 first-five at best at international level. I think we can all agree that something needs to be done with our midfield and backs bench. ALB has the ability to co0ver several positions, but lacks impact. Re: All Blacks 2024

I like Pakia’s take on Beauden: That BB just can’t sustain his focus for 80 minutes. That rings true, adding a slightly different nuance than just that he is a great impact player. Such a dumb take on Beauden. Every player is supposed to look better coming off the bench. Top level players even more...

Several thoughts from the game: 1. Do referees get half-time talking to's from a refereeing team pinpointing what they're seeing out there? The reshuffling of the other assistants has to be quite unsettling too. The likes of Hansen and Ellison would've spent a lot of time developing visions for what their respective areas would look like and how they'd operate, and now they're having to start afresh with completely new responsibilities.
