Re: NZ Politics Thread

The EY report says New Zealand is – for now – in the No 1 position in the global fight against the negative economic and health impacts associated with the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic. https://www.google.co.nz/amp/s/www.newsroom.co.nz/nz-economy-in-the-worlds-strongest-position%3famp=1 Not too shabby .

Absolutely not Mike. That guy turned out to be a prize bullshitter , having me on for fun . I’m amazed and flattered that you went back that far !?! My ‘source’ are couple of councillors, neither are beholden to the current mayor . In fact one often is at loggerheads with her . The other lost the la...

Re: New Christchurch Stadium

Exactly - the ramifications of this caused the devastating delay. Putting the blame for this on the mayor like your chosen commentator simply isn’t correct . It’s not ‘bang on’. Granted , the decision making since has often been flawed. By the delay has deeper roots . Decisions often have far longer...

It’s not that simple that’s the point . For someone that claims to be pragmatic over ideological , objective over biased using a ZB shock jock as the source of opinion doesn’t strike you as odd ? I wish I could drop a couple of pieces of very juicy information about CERAS continuing and lasting infl...

Re: New Christchurch Stadium

Even without looking, I just knew it was Mike Yardley that wrote this ! And bingo .. He’s extremely mighty righty and hates Lianne Dalziel with a white hot passion. Strangely he was far far less aroused with the CERA disaster . An interesting and somewhat ironic choice of commentator , if nothing el...

Re: New Christchurch Stadium

Given it's been 10 years since the earthquake, and people are still arguing about the concept/plans for this stadium, you'd have to assume that this stadium will never be built. Which is a real shame. Oh it’ll be built , whether it’s fit for purpose is another thing . The trouble is the council is ...

Re: New Christchurch Stadium

Maybe , but from what I’ve heard , CERA and it’s initial set up and effects of its licence had been utterly persuasive and lasting . The first years of Liannes mayoralty was spent in pitched battle with Brownlee and finally the council gained its own relative autonomy after the change of government,...

Re: New Christchurch Stadium

A huge group of competing interests and agendas , a wariness of over spending and having to raise rates .

A confusion over who can come through , certainly the Major has been pushing for resolution but no ones been all that interested for years now .

This is the silly thing about claiming world champion status after wining a RWC . I’m not making excuses . But I don’t think you have a clue what a atomic bomb CERA has been ! It’s only recently been overtaken in effect . I agree the stadium has been a joke , but it ain’t her nearly fault , rather it was the councillors wanting to focus on other things that made the dumb delay . ...
