Age and old injuries. I just need to manage workload. Periodically I accumulate lots of aches and need the week off. This week is one of those, but I have a one-off twinge adding to my annoyance. My right shoulder has awful range of motion from a labrum repair years ago. Constant battle to get it t...

I think about this quite often lol about the levels to these things. My numbers are “fine” but I’ve been lifting a long time and don’t do much else. For context the guy who won the British championship at my weight class this year, totalled 200kg more than me. I doubt he would be top 5 in the world....

Re: The Training Thread - all aspects of fitness and health
Nice work Zak and monkey.
For me deadlifts been amazing. Squat has been good and bench was been fine.
PB with 280 on dead, which I think is about 12.5 up. 2.5 up on squats, PB now 245. Lost weight and it affected my bench most but feel like that’s coming back a bit now.

My training has been a bit weird for a few weeks. Couple of weeks where I was out of routine and a shift from “peaking” to more of a groundwork phase again. It’s meant that for 3 weeks or so my lifts have felt rubbish. Starting to feel a bit back to normal now. Moved to high bar on this cycle which ...

Broke 140 on squats this morning. First time in a year or so. Flupping delighted. Hit 170 for a double on Dls last week, so I'm well on to hit my goals of squatting 3 plates and pulling 4 before the end of July. Still feeling quite beaaten up after these kinds of numbers. Nothing revolutionary.
Went from a top set of 3 at RPE around 9 last week (which I failed) to a top single at RPE 5.5 this week. Dropped 40kg.

Haven’t deloaded since I started lifting again about 3.5 months ago, after a 16 month covid break. Eating about 3000 calories a day. Might be slightly high on fat as far as macros go. I haven’t been super tight about counting them and while I don’t eat a bunch of garbage it’s probably higher in fat...

Re: The Training Thread - all aspects of fitness and health
My training is going pretty well at the moment.
Best lifts recently really are
230 squat
155x5 paused bench
260x2 deadlift.
Also not feeling that beat up for a change. Still got a bit of elbow pain but it’s not that bad.
Hopefully look to compete next year again.

Have been programmed tempo squats for the first time in years in my new block. 4 second negative then straight back up.
First session last night. 1 set of 4 followed by 3 sets of 7 normal squats.
Plucked a number out my head which was 160.
It almost killed me
