Re: U.S. politics thread and Joe Biden-the Ronan O'Gara of U.S. Presidents

As a general statement..

Those wishing to replace the USD as the reserve currency should (in all fairness) suggest another currency they’d prefer to have their life savings pegged to.

Re: U.S. politics thread and Joe Biden-the Ronan O'Gara of U.S. Presidents

US Treasuries are the world’s most trusted instruments. Every portfolio in the investment world would carry them. They go up, they go down. They’re not going away anytime soon. And the Chinese selling down is good. Means they will have slightly less of a gun to hold to the head of the US and world ...

Re: War in Ukraine...

Great, so this package signals the new reality. The Russians are committed to achieving pre-1991 territory and we have to drain the tank to defend Europe. Happy days. Cost of living to remain exorbitant for the next 10 years. I'm feeling a bit smug for not living in Europe. Not for the first time, ...

Forgetting RA for a minute - easily done, tbf - what the ATO does next seems crucial.
Yup

Then ASIC next. They can come up with a rescue package and still end up being prosecuted (if the evidence indicates, innocent until proven etc)

Re: Melbourne Rebels... SAVED?!

What's the deal with the directors being personally liable for the Rebels tax bill? Yeah, just looking at that article posted above, it seems like the Rebels future is far from assured. There are two legal battles, against RA and the ATO, that have to be won by the Rebels before this deal happens. ...

Re: Combined junior rugby

I have been heavily involved with junior footy for yesrs and never heard of this happening. Totally off, when we’re trying to encourage youngsters to play

The only thing I can think of is that perhaps the coach meant ‘for game day’ but didn’t explain himself properly

If you're going to pick a winger and want to be taken seriously you have to have an honest look at Reece. He's never been as good at test level as he has at SR level. Penauds defense isn't the greatest. The question was ‘right now’. i.e. based on current from I’d challenge anyone not simply picking...
