Re: Bin O’Keefe and that last scrum.
I’ve got an idea, we should de-power scrums, then we can get rid of a couple of players, that will create more space for more tries!!! That would be an awesome change and make rugby soooo much more exciting I've got an idea, why don't you make the same shit unoriginal joke that every other plum mak...

Re: QF 3: England vs Fiji: A Half Arsed Fred
Fijian captain was a disgrace in the press conference. He’s surely going to be sanctioned for accusing the officials of bias. I certainly don't agree with his actions but is there a way to raise these concerns? Can/do refs face sanctions? He also threw a tantrum on field which looked very bad. And ...

Re: QF 3: England vs Fiji: A Half Arsed Fred
I think Fiji have this unless theyre knackered or choke. Dont think England have the game to strangle them otherwise. But i think Fiji would easily be tier 1 and probably one of the better tier 1 with the structure and finances. Appreciate the comment re: structure and finances, but to your first p...

Re: QF 3: England vs Fiji: A Half Arsed Fred
Is this the real thread or is there another one somewhere? 19 posts the day before a RWC quarter final indicates a lack of care. No, this is it. There aren’t many Fijians on here, and the English are too busy wallowing in self pity over their undefeated run through the pool stages. They’re all on t...

Re: QF 3: England vs Fiji: A Half Arsed Fred
Most of the discussion around England team selection has centred on 10 and 15. But the big selection call is in the pack and particularly in the back row. Lawes-Curry-Earl are three great individual players but a pretty lightweight and imbalanced trio. Across the whole pack there's a general lack o...

Re: QF 3: England vs Fiji: A Half Arsed Fred
I think England will nick this one. Fiji look a bit spent and I just think England will kick enough ball and spoil well enough to frustrate Fiji. That said, England’s headhunting could cost them a card or two which could change things. I think you're right. Still, being the only Tier 2 team there i...

I think Wales will have too much for Argentina Ireland look awesome but I think NZ will have their measure. Fiji tend to rise or fall according to their opponent but it won't matter with the way England play. France and South Africa. Honestly, I just don't know. France maybe because of home advantage?

Re: A bit rich the Brits and Irish calling others islanders
I’ve had plenty of Fijian and Tongan teammates down the years, and always told them I’m an Atlantic Islander. Then we’ve had interesting conversations about which of our ancestors were the better sea-farers and fishermen, in the more challenging conditions. Pfft, the Fijians and Tongans are are ran...

Tongans and Samoans I play rugby with here in the states call themselves and other Tongans, Samoans, Hawaiians, etc… islanders I think in a rugby context at least it’s a source of pride and not derogatory. If used in a more official setting I can see how it would be considered derogatory Islanders,...

That's a romantic view of Tahiti, Fiji etc. Assuming you're English is it fair to say that every English lass is rosy cheeked and rather buxom and all the men are strong yeoman? And the sheep are all wooly white and the green fields roll in to the distance? And every village has a wise pipe smoking...

Eh? It's simple enough. Pacific Islands is fine. "Islander" is an old term, inoffensive in itself, that has picked up some associations based on old attitudes. "South Sea Islander" trebly so.
