Several of those listed who haven't played regularly (as in Kleyn, Orie, von Staden & Esterhuizen) are older than I realised. But, what about Am?

It was an exciting match to watch, even last year, after all those years. The crowd and atmosphere were electric. A very good day all round.

That the four best are on the one side will put two out at the quarters. Seems not fair to the four but which two will go home.Ireland's going home. I feel it though I don't like the idea and will smile if I'm wrong.

How was he allowed to call the RWC final? Liked the Welsh fellow (forgot his name) who brought us the NZ/RSA opening match. I like Matthew Pearce and Joel Stransky though I sometimes miss Joel's comments because he speaks so softly. Years ago, Gordon Bray was very, very good. But the Scots fellow of...

Thanks, Ali's Choice, for posing a central question about assistants being fired but their boss retained. Were Mooar & Plumtree working by themselves, without input from Foster? We know they weren't, and so, if the boss had oversight over their performances, is he not ultimately responsible? On a re...

Re: Canadian Election Thread
It's unlikely the liberal caucus would attempt to remove a sitting Prime Minister but our current times are volatile, to say the least. Another possibility, perhaps more likely, is that Mr Trudeau could lose his taste for the job. He may not have the combative nature of his father. Mr Harper kept th...

Re: Canadian Election Thread
It's likely that a Conservative party moving to the right insures continued Liberal governments, as stated above. There isn't a reason for the PM to resign on that count though a few of us were speculating as to how long a politician's shelf life might be. Very very short in the case of recent Conse...

Re: Richie Mo’unga to second-five
I thought it was foolish to play anyone out of position. Richie's not a big man and perhaps Havili suffered from being bossed by the Boy midfield for being smaller. Richie at 12 would be a waste of his talents. I'd happily sign the petition to keep him at 10. It's not a simple choice between BB and ...

My daughter turned 18 in 2008. It was an election year. I drove her to the election office in our riding. She asked if I was coming inside with her. I replied that this vote she was about to have was hers only. When she came out, she said the elderly lady who helped her also thanked her as too few i...

After England takes down France in round 4 they should both finish 4 wins, 1 loss. Eddie should be safe and if things go well on the points England could again be winners. I don't hope for this but it could happen.

It's likely Ireland played as well as they could ever play v NZ in November. A question would be whether they can raise their game to that level again. NZ, on the other hand, can go much higher.

Saw recently a NZ mini called Harry. Quite violent but all the same, compelling. Saw a lot of Auckland, I think. Before that, one called Brokenwood Mysteries. Almost everything we see is UK or US so an interesting change.

Should have happened after Pacquiao took out Hatton. Since then, Manny's lost something, more I'd have to say than Mayweather. It's simply not as interesting or compelling for that reason. Should Mayweather win (I suppose he will) he'll doubtless go down as one of the best ever but without having ha...

Re: England or New Zealand for RWC 2015?
I don't believe France choked in their WC final losses. In the first two they were simply overmatched. In 2011 they were unfortunate to not win. It shouldn't be assumed England will win their pool next year. If they are 2nd they get South Africa. I wouldn't bet on them over the Boks. Well, I wouldn'...
