Re: Irish unity....?
Prediction: Jim Allister will become the new Reverend Ian Paisley, and his call to boycott the Protocol will gather more and more momentum. He's clever and articulate, a natural rabble rouser. So far, the conditions haven't been right for him to prosper, hence it's been all too easy to portray him a...

A bizarre response from some in France. They should be glad that a science they played a pioneering role in has been able to react to the current crisis so quickly, but instead we have this display of nationalistic insecurity. Don't underestimate the existential fear among the Europeans that their ...

Another sensational offering from AEP: All of a sudden the stereotype roles of the last four years have reversed. Europe’s technocrats are now the populists, the vaccine imperialists. Borisian Britain is starting to feel like a haven of calm by comparison. For all its mistakes, the UK is now cleavin...

After a difficult few years it would be a generous gesture, and it would make it possible to create a Common Travel Area immunity zone between the two countries. Time for the Irish ...

Has anyone used these? I was planning to invest in one as part of my current regime. Fascinating observation from Paul Bew in tomorrow's Sunday Times: Under the terms of the Government of Ireland Act of 1920, Northern Ireland was expected to pay an imperial contribution for defence and other UK-wide purposes as well as pay for its own services. In fact the opposite happened and Nort...

As I predicted on here a few weeks ago, the Irish have been royally shafted by their European brothers on fishing. It seems European solidarity has its costs! It's very sad. In World War I, the British were amazed at how healthy and strapping the young Dominion troops were. They had to order larger uniforms to fit them. The young Aussies weren't fat but rather tall, strong, healthy, and muscled. Bronzed, rippling torsos fed by lots of meat and fresh food....

Who would have thought that rugby would once be only New Zealand's third most successful sport behind cricket and sailing? Remarkable times. Why though? My theory is that New Zealand men, like Australian men, are getting softer and nowadays prefer non-contact sports. Whereas John Bull, and his vario...

I suspect the irony for that map is all the places numbered in the UK had loads of EU money given to them. Eh? The UK was a massive net contributor to the EU. Ergo, any EU money sent back to the UK was recycled from what we sent them (minus their cut). But that 350m/wk is supposed to go to the NHS,...
