Re: Scotland vs New Zealand Official Match Thread
Potential banana skin game for the Blackness. If they continue their current style;e of punching directly using heir big men they should be too physical for the Scotties. I so the a minimum of 15 winning margin. Not being arrogant just pragmatic. But there is temptation for the fringe players to try...

A nice full stop on a very successful tour. Nice to see good strong forward play to lay the foundation for what has traditionally been a NZ strength of fluid back play.

Nil Zilunds set peice dominance getting better rewards in the wet conditions. Aregies need to play, as opposed to just defend, like they did last week. With the momentum on wet ground you just head in reverse like the Ities in WW2

Re: IRE in NZ - ABs 2-9-16 July - Maori 29/6 & 12/7
Looking forward to this game with the result in doubt for the first time in many a year. The AB's have redemption on their mind while Ireland will be wanting to prove that last years effort was not an atypical result. If NZ get parity, and that is a big if, then the NZ backs and support play should ...

It twas a great game of footy. In the end though it was daylight second as far as the result goes. Scoreboard flattered Nil Zilund who were strangely passive. TJP while a tremendous competitor is too slow and we need to bring on the likes Weber and Chirstie in behind of Smith to gibe our outsides mo...

Re: All Black backrow discussion
I've been thinking long and hard about our backrow mix, and I've come to the conclusion that our backrow will always lack balance, and struggle against the elite test packs, if we continue to play Ardie Savea and Akira Ioane in the same starting backrow. They are too similar, both being first and f...

Remember being present during a presentation at my club during the evening when Dr Danie Craven gave a talk, mainly to us wee nippers. An area that the Boks could pressure NZ is in the lineout. With Lood back they should back their lineout to contest NZ throw-ins.
May result in NZ going primarily to the front but that will reduce their attacking options, unless they can quickly drive and then recycle.
Fascinating battle ahead.

Looking forward to this game big time.
The only area where we could struggle is at lineout where th Boks have a number of options. We have had to go to the front lately, a low risk option but also low reward.
The mean green machine against the spiritual guardians.

Good effort by NZ against a never say die Argentina. Great scrum, tidy lineout , excellent 2nd phase and good use of the pick and goes put the Argies on the back foot. Blackadder was strong and may have earned a spot in the 23 against SA. DMac was OK at first 5. If he was Quade he would be getting p...

Well done Australia. Essentially shown for it is is, a lack of ambition and ...

Re: The Ardie Savea conundrum - where does he fit in a full strength All Black's backrow, if at all?
Cane was the AB's best player last year by some distance. When fit he will be back in as first choice at No 7, certainly under Foster and would not disagree. Savea has versatility so should be in the 23 as he can fill in at 7 & 8 and occasionally 11:) Akira if he continues his form will take the 6 s...

Itoje took his manhood in Yokohama and that was the end of it for Brodie. He's never been the same player since. Competative game of two halves, if a somewhat hard game to watch as a Neutral. Both sides will need to take a few more risks if people actually want to win rather not lose. More recent match play has aided the tourists with the Bokke looking short of gallop. If only the Saffers ever learnt to play a...

Far more focussed effort by the AB's to play a simpler game. They had bony hard nosed forward pack to do it too which helped. The Argies play with great determination and their defence was outstanding again. Kept the game from blowing right out. Hopefully Wallbaie and SArgies knock seven bells out o...
