Re: Baltimore bridge has collapsed.
BTW, the bridge had dolphins: one can be seen in this picture in front of the ship's bow https://www.lanacion.com.ar/resizer/v2/el-puente-francis-scott-key-bridge-destruido-tras-BVP6KV2Z7BCU7HT7PC62DFWEXY.JPG?auth=77b75b69bed8b30d0933440487d82596a5eb557bf622223995cd3a527b8a05f5&width=880&height=586&...

Re: Baltimore bridge has collapsed.
Generally when a ship losses power as this one did, the rudder gets stuck in the last position it was. They might've been doing a course correction, because it lurches sideways and into the bridge's support. Not much you can do to slow down such a massive ship in such a short distance, so even in wa...

Re: Your best ever national team by unit
Two choices in each unit: a "classic" and a "modern" one. Classic units tend to be stronger in the pack (and the front row one was a nightmare to choose, since there were quite a few options), while the modern back ones are generally better. With the back three I picked two relatively modern units, ...

Re: Official 2023-24 “HSBC SVNS” International 7s Series Thread
If staged during January / February it'd certainly have a full stadium. Afterwards, club rugby season starts in March, and the most diehard rugby people would be playing / coaching rather than goingg to watch this... Then, there's the financial aspect. The last organizer went broke after the 2002 e...

Give to Arg. WR would be worried about abandoning anything US with WC looming. Not sure if it'll be viable down here nowadays... but I'd love to. They say that about the PIs as well, its got to go where the stadiums are not empty , its a bad look. I agree with that If staged during January / Februa...

Re: Official 2023-24 “HSBC SVNS” International 7s Series Thread
LP7 had looked vulnerable in this tournament from the early stages, and were well beaten in the QFs. Isgró's YC was spot on, and could've even been a red since he dived on the irish player without an attempt to wrap but with his shoulder, it was rather reckless from his part. The 2nd one looked like...

A few years ago we used to be bullied physically by the likes of the ABs, Aus and Fiji , and had no speedsters in the team... qualification for the top 8 in a tournament was seen as a success. Gondalez is a mobster should step up to 15s post Paris. I see Puma has explained this above. He trialled last year before the RWC, but only made it to Argentina XV. Argies win it again! Too good once again. AB7s played to the extent of their abilities though (which is a few steps below Argentina). Just not good enough. The 7s programme clearly needs new talent. Men’s final: ARG 36-12 AB7s I wonder who is responsible for the amazing improvement in the Argies' p...

Re: Best Global Rugby Stadiums
I'd say Principality and Aviva, from those I've been to. I've been to the Principality, and the La Plata stadium is at least as good as it when it comes to comfortable accomodations, visibility, services and atmosphere. The Principality wins by several miles when you consider the surrounding areas ...

While the José Amalfitani is well located, easily accessible and in a decent part of Buenos Aires, with mass transport (buses and trains) easily available, the same can't be said of the La Plata stadium. ThanKs so much for this! You're welcome, mate. The take on the whole thing was that, with the ball in fair contest at the scrum: 1. The attacking side has to focus on getting it instead of going for the PK (which is what they do now, as the ball is in their posession as soon as it's fed)....

It was me, a few years ago in Buenos Aires. Enforcing a straight feed made ahuge amount of difference. Reduced the penalizations and increased the number of scrums that ended up with the ball in play. Don't have the official documents on the results, but every part involved (players, coaches and re...

Which is all well and good, but it's a way to restart the game after a technical infringement and it can result of 5 minutes of the ball not coming back into play, and often end in a penalty anyway. And leaving aside it's nuts to go from a technical infringement to a shot at goal the sheer amount o...
