Re: HSBC 7s 2019/20 - Cape Town Start Pg 3
Not sure how I feel about World Rugby ramming the Womens Rugby down our throat like this. Don't get me wrong, I appreciate that they are trying to give the ladies' games more exposure and that they are also tremendous athletes, but I am a bit peeved that I am going to miss the Blitzboks' opener aga...

Team 5 for me. Easily the best forward pack, and a decent backline.

Re: Pool A - The permutations
Imagine if you had a situation where Scotland were up 36-31, both teams with the four try bonus point, and then Scotland have a penalty kick on full-time to try and snuff out the losing bonus point in order to advance on head to head.
The potential is there for drama.

Re: Pool A - The permutations
It will be crucial for Japan to get a bonus point win against Samoa. It's certainly not a done deal, as Scotland proved when they struggled to get there. It could come down to points differential. It goes to head to head first though doesn't it? So if the both end up on 14, it would mean Scotland g...

Yep, easy exit for the Wallabies in the quarters, not that anything else was realistically expected. Disgusting second half performance from them.

Re: Official England v Wales Pre-RWC Warm-up Match Thread No
There are a remarkable number of people attempting to rationalise and explain away that result. The reality is, the Wales 1st XV, on a 15 game winning streak, were bullied and beasted the length and breadth of Twickers by the England 2nd XV. If you’re not worried by that as a Welshman, then you wer...

The world rugby women's sevens circuit kicks off again next weekend, should be good. New Zealand will doubtless be the team to beat at Glendale. China make their debut on the circuit, will be interesting if they can avoid relegation. I've been impressed with what I've seen of them so far, certainly ...

Is there a reason why Kiwis have been refereeing matches in South Africa? It seems all kiwi home games are reffed by kiwis. The fix is in mate. I don't know about the fix, but I have no doubt the Bulls would've won against the Highlanders had a neutral reffed it rather than Glen Jackson. I just won...

Perenara scored the try IMO, but I don't blame the refs. It's one of the flaws of the "onfield decision is a try/no try" system.

I think the last few world cups have been very competitive, and I see no reason why we can't look to move to 24. One of the great things about the world cup are the opportunities it provides players from emerging nations to show their talent and potentially land contracts with European clubs, and th...

Re: 2017 Super Rugby Final Lions vs Crusaders
Feels like the wrong team won tbh. Lions the better side but rules are rules and red card was inevitable. BS. Crusaders led when it was 15v15. Altitude and travel had them out on their feet at the 60 minute mark. And that altitude effect would've been worse for the Crusaders most likely without the...

Only reason that they got a home final - no away games in NZ. Let's be honest here . It's not the Lions fault, nor a criticism of them. But they were only a couple of points away from NOT hosting a home final. It's not a big leap to think they might not of made it if they had to play a few g...

It's going to be carnage against the Wallabies. If the Wallabies get within 20 it will be a fantastic result for them. I think it's quite possible we could put 60 on them in one of the games. From their strong efforts in the French series the Springboks at least look like they might give us a decent...

I think some teams will definitely be a bit flat this round. Canes have a big opportunity against the Crusaders, win this game and you send the Chiefs to Cape Town, and deny the Crusaders the top seed (presuming the Lions win in Durban).

Prior to this series there were lots of "ASmith sucks. TJ should be our premier halfback" from fans. Now fans are all like "TJ sucks. Shouldn't be an All Black." There were lots of "SBW isn't AB standard" earlier in the year, but suddenly fans decided he was absolutely necessary to the cause and a ...
