Re: **OFFICIAL** English Rugby Thread

We need to build some depth in quite a few positions though. The drop off from, say, Lawrence, is huge - even losing a rookie like Wabosi was hurtful. And the bench needs to have bigger impact. It'll be tough to bring in fresh faces with the schedule we have for the rest of this year - but needs to...

Aled Walter’s deserves a lot of credit, we look very different physically. Genge and Maro in particular look significantly bigger than under Jones and still seem to be very fit. Genge is playing much better without all the machismo. Imo yesterday was his best game for England. Wasn't he good yester...

I think the pleasing thing is, we can play this way consistently now. They backed it up Ireland last week and france this week.

The 2 toughest teams and it was 23-22 and 31-33. And we have a lot to progress with.

France played very well. That can happen, we can't mitigate everything.

Humphries at the moment is in a different gear to anyone else. Won playing poorly against Aspinall in the final last night but, he's relentless and it's effortless. 99/100 he always has a 100+ average, usually between 103 and 108 and it's breaking world class players. It's also the psychology for the team too. When steward plays, it's mentally easy for the on field leaders to ask up and unders all the time. It's a comfort zone or blanket that they go to regardless of the tactics.

With furbank that's not an option, so we default to wanting to run it.

Furbank reminds me of Daly's first season at fullback for England (around 2018-19) - initially quite effective as teams had gotten used to handling Mike Brown, but always a sense that there's significant shortcomings in his high-ball and defence that could be exposed once teams figure him out When ...
