Re: The Frizell yellow card.

TMO originally asked Barnes to look at the neck roll by Frizzell. Barnes said, "No neck roll," then the TMO suggested Frizzell's fall onto Mbonambi's leg was a deliberate act because the Bok was receiving medical attention. Barnes allowed himself to be convinced by the close-up camera view, without ...

Re: 2023 Rugby World Cup Final Match Thread - NZ Vs South Africa

Just a couple of things: Congrats Boks, you are the champions, and no-one can take that away. The absolute farce of Shannon Frizzell's card was shown when the TMO announced, "he's just fallen on Mbonambi's leg." Wasn't that obvious? Then when Degroot got smacked in the face it was deemed only a "gla...

There's no way Scotty is on the bench, and what last night again demonstrated is that you need perpetual brutality from the big men to beat the Irish. For all the plaudits their backs get, it was the forward's defence in their 22 that was most impressive for me. RWC winners soak up pressure up front...

Re: England vs Samoa - RWC Pool D

After reflecting upon this game, I think Mapusua is right about an 'subconcious bias,' not unconscious, although that in itself may be Fruedian, against the minnows, and particularly having a middle-class, white, UK ref on that game. Brace 'painted himself into a corner' telling Farrell "the next on...

Controversial opinion here but Mo’unga is seriously overrated. He’s still the best the ABs have but he’s not actually anything special. He can't play on the field with BB. I must have misread all of the SH posters calling an AB win in the first few pages of this thread At the Half I felt like NZ was still looking like the more dangerous team. Lack of discipline cost them dearly. While I agree with you, I felt we weren't altogether too well served as a handful of thos...

Re: RWC Opening Match Les Bleus vs Les Tous Noirs Match Thread

Awful game. France showed nothing in attack. ABs left big points out there. My thoughts also. Yes, there were at least two visits to the 22 which should have led to tries. A poor night with the goal kicking didn't help either. Needed to exert more scoreboard pressure. Except with 13 penalties to 3,...

The only reason Farrell has 'shown remorse' is because the RWC is iminent, his 'good character' should not be an issue though his recidivism should be, and his 'acceptance of foul play,' speaks for itself really, as he is something of an expert at it.

Re: How long will Faz get?

I am of the opinion that this decision has simply neutered the referees, and the bunker concept. Farrell's tackle looks exactly the same as Leitch's, yet Farrell gets off. For the sake of the RWC, World Rugby must meet now to review the RWC protocols, and the Farrell situation. As an aside, the RWC ...

I must admit to some nerves about this one, as I don't see a common thread in the AB selections, and also have difficulty reconciling the rationale involving the replacements.
