Think it was less about arms, and more that Ben Earl special low on his knees tackle. Not a yellow, but definitely a pen.

To be fair to him, he's got balls. First half was extremely poor in every way. Did very well to steady the ship and improve in the second half with some big involvements towards the end. My thesis that given time on the ball and go forward he's a world beater, but with no time and space he crumbles...

Re: The best Irish thread ever

With an intelligent playmaker like Gibson-Park at 9 (not unlike Lucu) you can easily afford a Frawley at 10 imo. Leinster seem more concerned with having a guy who "runs the week" rather than plays rugby. I know players like to assume responsibility but I'd the coaches ran the week and allowed for ...

Re: The best Irish thread ever

It's not that Frawley was always categorically Leinster's best 10 after Sexton. It is that his ceiling was way higher than the Byrnes and he needed gametime to develop into your best 10 (and while he's a passable 12 he's not athletic enough to be a top level 13 or 15). If you invested in him you bea...

Re: The best Irish thread ever

Don't buy that argument at all, Frawley never has to play anywhere. The revisionism now on twitter is that Frawley has been screwed by the focus on trying to develop Prendergast*, but it has been Cullen's infatuation with the security blanket of the Byrnes. Anyone arguing it's the best use of resour...

One of the things that was very noticeable to me was the way in which the UBB backline stars got stuck into the close quarter arm wrestles. How is there even a Leo "debate" He's had during his tenure an Ireland squad that's been at their worst a top 5 side and for long periods either THE best team in the world or 2nd and battling it out for 1st. Been awful by Munster. As much as Casey and Crowley made such a huge difference last week, they're joint game management this week with the wind has been properly awful.

Exeter being allowed to do great (not so legal) work slowing ruck ball, and the team isn't learning.
