Re: 🇮🇪 Vs 🇮🇹 Fred

As brill as the offload was - a big part of that was Beirne actually flicking the ball back to CJ to speed things up too. Not sure he would have felt empowered to do that under Joe.

There is, McGrath’s passing/control is killing everything outside him.

Re: Leinster v World cup winners Munster.

I am baffled by the TMO there, only one of the replays was rewinded far enough, and that was clear he was down, then he wriggled, then he placed the ball (slightly short), then he pushes it on the line.

Nonsense.

Yeah, Sarries still have an excellent XV, but their depth has gone back to where it was 5 or 6 years ago. If Furlong and Ryan are fit you shouldn't have anything to worry about.

Just flicked on. Definite pen there, but despite the new interpretations Clancy is very happy to see the attacking team leave their feet at the ruck. Massively different to all the recent rugby I've watched.

The Stander penno on 34:45 Leinster players ask ref if CJ was supporting his body weight (which he clearly wasn't) when he latched onto the ball Ref says, he (Stander) "had a good body position and was pulled off his feet" Eh, exactly ref ... That one was absolutely bizarre. Much better game than I expected, losing RG and Killer so early cost us the game , Leinster will have learnt a hell of a lot from it,lineout needs a ball of work. Bloody enjoyed it. Well again, Toner didn’t touch him, unless “got shoved in the back by” is the same as touching him. 2 tries during the sin bin. You've never been allowed to jump across the lineout. It's always been illegal as it's really dangerous as there is a big risk of taking out either the jumper or the lifte...

The Lions Tour is the nearest we’ll ever get to a real life “what’s the best combined team?” type game, where the players take it seriously and everyone actually cares who wins. (Ryder cup being different in that golf isn’t a team sport normally) Other sports have All-Star games, or charity matches...

Just watched the highlights, that holding on call at the end is one of the crappest reffing decisions I've seen in a long time. Goodhue must have been astonished to have won the pen and not got a yellow when he got back to his feet.

I am also kind of worried, but I think the reason we might be f**ked is not having a jackler openside - loads of turnovers in both games have come from backs. The problem will be the pace of the game. If you aren't keeping the ball alive it is going to be so easy to get isolated and have ball turned...

I really like tacklers having to roll away and the strictness on angles of entry. But as defenders are at such an advantage the ref really does need to be hot on the jackler going off their feet. Quite a few times the defending team won a penalty despite the defender's hands going straight to ground...

The problem with that tip tackle is that Willemse’s impact is what made it made, his hit and weight was what drove Gilchrist to the ground.

On Itoje, he obvs pushes the line and sometimes does the odd stupi thing because of that, but is clearly a smart player. What's noticeable in this game is that he's not attacking the 9 at the ruck - and the O'Keefe has told him not to a few times. I bet that came up in ref meetings during the week (...

The 'worse' Ryan clearout was right at the end of the first half, where he flew in without much control and should have been penalised (and basically got lucky with where he hit the England player). But it, the Stander/Farrell incident and similar England infringements were directly because Peyper ...
