Re: The Official Irish Rugby Thread

The solution is simple. Munster, Ulster, and, to a lesser extent, Connacht need to get their acts together. I'm no Leinster fan (I'll support them against anyone bar Munster and possibly Connacht), but they got a lot right over a few years. They got some calls horribly wrong, but have shown how sma...

No, you have assumed equal opportunity. All I'm missing is the word 'similar' ffs. I haven't changed any position. You've just been pedantic. If you want clarification of what I mean, just ask. So you've either changed your position, or you are refusing to acknowledge you have changed position. I was taking the more positive reading, bu...

Of course it's not identical. But still a wasted opportunity. Of course that isn't what you initially said, so appreciate you acknowledging you were wrong. Unlike you, but welcome. Produce good players and they get CCs allowing you to sign good backups to cover while they are with Ireland. Beautifu...

Re: The Official Irish Rugby Thread

I’ve suggested it a lot. I feel we miss out a lot to the likes of the kiwis on this point. Ultimately everything should and has to be about the Irish team. Tell me she was the last time you saw some of the Leinster stars give as emotional a performance as they did on sat in green. I wanted them to ...

Re: The Official Irish Rugby Thread

While there is no way the two announcements are correlated in that way, Leinster's 10 CCs are a big part of the reason you can spaff 200K on something you really don't need. Produce good players and they get CCs allowing you to sign good backups to cover while they are with Ireland. Beautiful in it...

Re: The Official Irish Rugby Thread

This may be the only serious post I make on the topic but I'd note the following: - Leinster have two FBs, Keenan and JOB; - The latter plays more on the wing; - Losing Ngatai in all likelihood; - Probably losing Frawley. There's lots of space for a utility back who can cover 12/13/15. If you do lo...

Obviously great news if you're a Leinster fan as he's a fantastic player. But in the grand scheme of things 200K* that could definitely be spent on loads of other more important things in Leinster (including a TH) or across the Irish rugby system. Yes he may end up making a couple of contributions t...

Clear foul play with the lift and drive in the tackle.

Ironically one of those where the fact Dingwall protects himself means it is a yellow, rather than a straight red.

That game will be close It won't be. Their pack bar Lawes isn't good enough. Northampton won't get within 40 points of Leinster, they are very ordinary. I think they are better than ordinary, with a few top class players and they would be able to trade blows with most teams in the tournament. It is...

Re: Heineken cup quarter final - Leinster vs La Rochelle

Atonio has been an absolutely empty jersey for 52 minutes. Utterly useless. Yeah did SFA today. I think this might be the start of the downfall of La Rochelle. They look very average, nothing like the teams from last few years. Even accounting for a couple of important absences, most of their best ...

Doris shouldn't have given it. Passing lane was blocked.
It was more that a 10 with any level of athleticism at all would have spotted the gap and hit the line, rather than being flat footed and then not committing themselves.

Byrne did well in the end there*, but it was so noticeable in that set he wasn't committing any defenders.

*though most 10s would have been able to get outside the defender and wouldn't have needed to do the basketball pass.
