Re: Is Itoje that good really?
He was very good in that game but on balance from the games I have seen I don’t think he has delivered to the extent to warrant the way he is talked up. As I say though, my sample size is small. Yeah fair call. As someone else mentioned he looks great when England are on top but not so much when En...

Has amateur football been give the nod? Under what conditions?
I’ve not heard anything new for a couple of weeks now and we’re still on phase 2 of 6 of the return.

Ewels is a “leader” according to Eddie, which may have some merit considering he was Bath skipper at 22. Quite what that means though, apart from he talks a good game at training. Another Brad Shields who was someone else who had these mysterious leadership qualities that we saw nothing of on the pi...

Well some chickens came gome to roost - Youngs oscilated to being shit again, Daly failed at FB, Billy is out of form, we didnt get away with Makos average scrummaging and Cole was an empty shirt. The scrum was a disaster and took us out of the game. Avoiding the set piece ment we never really got ...

Re: **OFFICIAL** English Rugby Thread
Team selection cost us that game. Lawes against that pack is a no in the scrum. Really looked nervy and Sinckler going off was a bit of a nail in the coffin quickly. Once we lost the scrum that was it. They just went there and we got hammered. I’m just reading this thread wankered in a bar in Tokyo...

Re: All Blacks V England RWC Semi Final Match Thread.
I’m ok with the loss, we just got hammered by a team that was on their game. It’s easy in hindsight to say we shoulda done this or that but at the end of the day the zoo picked what they thought was their best side and in the end they just weren’t good enough, fair dues to England, I thought they w...

Sucks particularly for people like HH who have flown out for this game. I take off in 2 hours. I'm only going for Australia v Georgia really. Wilson is carrying a knock, and they aren't risking him. Well that makes sense. Not to worried as I think this game will be exactly the kind of contest Underhill and Ludlam will relish. Curry is brilliant in every type of game obvs. Curry and Underhill together does make for a very physical, suffoc...

It's an Eddie Jones thing that he only picks two scrumhalves (he did the same with Aus in 2003 and Japan in 2015) and has consistently gone down this route with England. Francis and Slade are considered as back-ups at 10. I know, hence the mention of another half back, not scrum half. Only taking t...

Smiths omission is less of a surprise. He’s clearly 4th choice at best and making up the numbers whilst the semi and finalists have their rest. Sincklers is more concerning.

Bad wording on my part. He’s not been “sent home” as in a disciplinary issue, which is probably a fair assumption with Sinckler, just not retained in the squad, whilst all the other senior players seem to have been.

Squad as expected but Sinkler sent home and Schonert retained. I guess with Hartley gone and Mako injured we’ve got to up the poach quotient, which surely can be the only explanation as to why Heinz is in there, but seems an odd one.

Mako (or possibly Maro)’s hand is under the pointy end of the ball, but on his initial drive Healy seems to tilt the ball over on its side.
