Re: Bledisloe 1: All Blacks vs Wallabies: MATCH THREAD: Saturday 27th September

What does that mean and how do you know? Well, I don’t know . It’s an opinion of course. There was huge emphasis on not losing at Eden Park. Razor had handpicked the venue the previous year. It was a massive focus for this team. Then they play the worst 25mins in AB history the following week. I’m ...

Re: Bledisloe 1: All Blacks vs Wallabies: MATCH THREAD: Saturday 27th September

Agree. But this NZ team is so up and down, I back us to win the second match. I was just hoping that the match the ABs shat the bed in would be the one at Eden Park. Never seen them play so badly. Their focus on Eden Park had been building for a long time. Pressure was immense to not be THE team to...

Dont get caught up in the AB hyperbole, it was still winnable at 65min, only then did NZ switch off.

Completely different publics. Local football is everywhere, and the WQ qualifiers are shown on free to air to massive audiences. Rugby is still a relatively niche sport, mostly shown on cable networks (ESPN / Disney+ app). Not even RWC matches are free to air... Media portals have the result in the...

Great match. Excellent comeback from the wobs albeit not enough this week to get over the line but what an atmosphere the Argie fans make. Re: TRC 2025 - Pumas tour of Australia

Isgró developed an outstanding aerial game in the 7s program. He was the chasing specialist, and with him on the field LP used to recover most of their own kickoffs (had the highest % of all teams in the series in that aspect for two years in a row). He was the main target of our kick and chase, an...

Re: TRC 2025 - Pumas tour of Australia

Halfbacks rely too much on the caterpillar even if they have momentum they slow down for it. Other teams like the Boks are actually good at the kick and chase. Its a pall on the game, the crowd were groaning every time we did it. Tate does it a lot. At least he runs at gaps, makes space. His kickin...

Re: TRC 2025 - Pumas tour of Australia

Just abandon the tactic all together unless it's Suaalii chasing. Kick long or keep the ball. It seems to be every teams' go to attack move, that farking human caterpillar ..... outlaw the thing. The amount of kicks with no chasers baffled me. I was counting at the game and we took two balls from t...

Re: TRC 2025 - Pumas tour of Australia

Wallabies have been dreadful competing for the high ball all year. The only upside is that from what I've seen the ABs have been fairly dire as well so maybe we can do better against them. Wasn't just Edmed, Schmidt must have been prepared to lose that game with his selections but pretty pathetic effort from 10mins until 63mins mark then just left the run too late.

What is the 50% that needs to be paid if the game is in Sydney? The Tahs players sleep at home and don't catch a plane, and I imagine the broadcast equipment and crew are already in Sydney. The logistics to play a game in the sticks is significantly more. Umm the opposition? :? I get it you dont li...

Re: Wallabies 2025: Revenge of the Schmidt

I think the costs would be significant. For starters, the Tahs' players and staff all need hotel rooms and a plane. Getting the broadcast crew and equipment up there would also run a hefty bill. It is definitely important to engage with country fans, but if we are talking about bang for the buck, i...
