Re: Brisbane 2032 Olympics
Yeah no need for another rectangular stadium. Cricket is needed though. Yeah so ACB/GABBA trust and AFL fund the GABBA upgrade. The AFL are loaded and they want their game to march northwards....then fund it. No sport has ever funded a stadium in Australia. Not going to happen. They can pay for mor...

Re: First bit of sh!t hits the fan for ARU - Daugunu refuses to play
It’s reputational damage for rugby. NRL must be lapping all of this up. It’s amateur hour and it gives a really bad look to other players — who’ve probably all been on their WhatsApp groups making plans. Why would horse guy care? NRL are doing fine (despite the usual weekly controversies off field....

Re: LIons tickets on sale
There is a 100% chance that the games will be all sold out, right? Ergo, the price is either correct or lower than market demand. This is how much elite sporting events cost - I don’t know what the whinging is about. There is always an "elite" event around the corner and the public are told they ca...

Re: Police in NSW
NSW cops are special alright. Last year, one of them tasered a 90yo lady with dementia (who was holding a knife) and killed her. All they had to do was get a riot shield out and bowl her over onto a mattress. Nope, taser her so her head cracks on the floor. SMH She gave a bit of lip, its standard p...

Im surprised QE11 still exists. Should started here from day 1, used another 500m for transport links and create a vibrant area with some post olympic purpose. Re doing the GABBA is just giving the AFL another free stadium Must admit I haven’t been out to QE11 since I’ve been a teen. I assume it’s ...

Re: LIons tickets on sale
As the tickets appear to be selling very well, it might be that RA has got this one right. The tickets released thus far seem to be selling well. Re: LIons tickets on sale
Does anyone else feel that this was a somewhat rushed and poorly delivered ticket release to tide up the coffers and stop Rugby AU from going under? The general feel is that most of the Australian Rugby community were unaware that it was happening and there was little to no publicity in the last fe...

I'd still go Lolesio though, he's got experience . I'd prefer a 10 with talent. or you just dont like him An acquaintance of ours, whose son went to TSS (on a rugby scholarship I think) a couple of years behind Lolesio told us that he had been a really good guy at school, and for a year or two afte...

Re: Wallabies 2024 (2023 never happened)
Wallabies need a reliable kicker this year more than ever. 2-3 super games have been lost due to established kickers leaving 3-6+ points wide.
Crazy that still no one is standing out from any of them. It would certainly end the discussion on which fly half to pick.

Re: LIons tickets on sale
We're going to have 3 tests with 85% of the crowd being braying Lions' fans, aren't we? I don't go to live matches these days. It's too expensive. You have lots of options for events in Brisbane, too. But this a once in 12 years special occasion. If we had a quarter decent side I would pay but we a...

8) Norths are my team (I assume you mean North Sydney). In Brisbane, it's Jeeps. For yesterday's game, however, I was supporting the Filth. Fvck Randwick. Can't stand Hoiles. Every coach in the entire comp has the same limitation, and again the Tahs squad has been very stable for a few years injuries notwithstanding. Anyway Bell is some player. I don’t think I’ve ever been more in love with a Tahs player in my life. Absolute class player and by all accounts a decent dud...

Re: Waratahs v Blues @ Sydney - tonight
I reckon the Tahs are 1 or 2 key players away from being a top 4 side. Edmond is really limiting. I think they need to get Will Harrison back into the seat when they can. Also need a re-think of coaching. Coleman just doesn’t have it, yet. I think hes trying to do what he can with limits. Reversing...

Re: SRP Rd 4 - Rebels v Reds Match Thread
That’s probably about right besides Holloway. He’s lacking size but he’s smart, does the simple things well, can run a good line out and offers some versatility on the bench. Toss-up between him or Swain. He’s never done the business at test level , I’d prefer they move on and try to develop Swain ...

Looks like a brumbies win, they have played a bit gash at times and aided by some dumb HL errors but Larkhams's got o be happy with a win in nz.

LSL should be nowhere near anything gold He’s lost all his venom. Other than last night, that isn't true. Yeah it’s a strange comment. LSL and Frost is about as good as Australia can put out right now. You’d definitely have guys like Sinclair in the wider squad. I’d be interested in who shanky thin...
