Re: Future British & Irish Lions tour of France on the agenda
Personally I think it's shite and the point of the Lions is the difficulty of trying to tour the far flung corners of the globe. Touring a country that's a couple of hours away on the train doesn't really cut it. Spot the guy who lives in the arse end of the other side of the world I think it could...

He has whenever fit, he has missed huge amounts through injury in the past 5 years. Even this season he has been out for 3 months. Similarly, Rob Kearney had longevity, but I would rate Hugo Keenan as the better player. Significantly better tackler, better passer and more pace. Hickie Better than b...

Re: The Official Irish Rugby Thread
To say Stockdale has had a better career than Earls is madness at the moment Stockdale is the better player. No doubt about it. He has score individual tries Earls could only dream off. The most naturally gifted Irish back since BOD broke through in the late 90’s. Agreed his ceiling is higher but h...

Scarlets deserved winners alright. Looked to Me that it was more a combination of lads minding themselves before next week and also being heavy legged - maybe flogged this week to feel the benefits next week? Only maybe six of yesterday's 23 will be in the 23 against Saints, minding themselves or b...

Re: 2024/2025 Champions Cup
They've got to do away with these home country seedings in the knockout stage and make it more of a random draw. Leinster drawn at home all the way through to the final yet again . It's just so boring and takes away all the jeopardy. You might as well do straight to the QFs and two legged QFs/SFs r...

Re: 2024/2025 Champions Cup
Disagree, it can be very tough to win on the road in this competition. If you put in the effort to top the pool you should get rewarded for that. Teams can sneak through with 1 win from the pool stage, image Ulster with a home draw, it would be ridiculous. It's the format that's wrong with the comp...

But yeah we're not THAT far from the days of Stan, Fogarty, CJ/Heinke, Strauss, Ross, Hines, Hogan, Keogh, Reddan, Boss, Nacewa, Shaun Berne (remember that guy?)... Barrett must not be allowed start. Makes no sense otherwise. I'd have had TOB on the wing with Lowe as well. Good to see Deegan rewarded. Irelands kicking game is dogshit. Aimless punts to nowhere being challenged by nobody. Very difficult to get a decent kick chase when back pedalling A big part of this is our multiphase attack is looking dogshit compared to last year. We're seemingly very lively off set piece, but we're not getting...

Re: The Official Irish Rugby Thread
Beirne appeared 4 times for Leinster in 2015/2016. All off the bench. Obviously these things will always be debatable in terms of longevity and what not but I'd have Hines and Rocky in there. Thorne's 8 appearances too few but surely the best lock I assumed Willie was going for best homegrown side....
