Re: **OFFICIAL** English Rugby Thread
I've said it before, sometimes he is everything you want to see in a modern prop, sometimes he shouldn't be anywhere near the England side.
Really pleasing to see him focusing on his game.
Best game from him in a long while

Just watched the u20s game.

Bit unlucky England, did much betterthan most expected
France, well its alright picking these huge lumps but when the game is played at pace too many of then fail to make enough of a contribution for me.

Their Strength & Conditioning focus will kill a team like Ireland. You mean drugs yeah The Irish players need a good break to recharge and get away from rugby. Re: France vs England - Official 6 Nations Thread - 16 March 24
The baby Orcs played a great second half. They outclassed us and deserved their win. We had no answer to their maul, nor to the work of their scrum-half around the fringes where he created two winning gaps. All we had to respond was disjointed and brainless. It was very disappointing to see. Didn’t...

Well that was probably the worst game in SR this year
Not helped by the worst reffing display either. He didn't favour one side over another, he was just terrible.

Disappointing by the Landers.
Could have and maybe should have won it.
Unfortunately they looked like they were playing by numbers for most of the game. What a carry by Harmon for his try

I thought Love and Roigard were the pick of the Canes Backs, with Procter not far behind. Moorby looked dangerous but was well marked. Don't know if either team played to a game plan tonight. Love seems to have settled this year. No longer looking for the miracle play. He's a serious talent . Moorb...

Geez that was a tough win, but any win in Chch. Is a big one.
When the Saders got into their rhythm they were mighty hard to break down as they always are.
Reece was brilliant, easily MoM.

Pretty much. Internationals are meant to be better than pro leagues but I'm not sure these are. Interesting results but, as you say, quality is way down on what I expected My feeling too. Also winner was pretty much decided in the first game. By pretty much, you mean not at all? England were one sh...

Very enjoyable, and the feel ‘of place’ is profound. Like the main guy - hardly perfect as hero which is attractive . She’s lovely and the rest of the cast particularly strong . As with the original mini series all the Japanese actors are great and carry the show. Didn't think Richard Chamberlain w...

Has there been a poor game yet? Yes! The Rebels were truly awful in their first outing against the Brumbies. The emotion got the better of the players I think and they shit the bed. The entertainment value has been excellent. Some great tries and close games. Reds and Tahs saw good crowds this weekend - maybe something is building? Blues had an absolute shocker and the Canes generally played well but the Blues were still somewhat in it, so I suppose there are positives in that, if they can learn and improve from this result. I hope they go back to the more basic approach of the first two games and try and grind teams down. Ca...

Well they do and did differentiate. No they didn't, they differentiated due to the 'absorbing nature of the tackle'. Did you even read the article  Pretty hard to absorb a tackle while driving your shoulder into someone's face. But I meant they differentiated in terms of punishment. In other ...

Re: Is there a pushback against the safety initiatives in Rugby
Yes, I think head on head is less dangerous than shoulder to the head. Basic physics. I never said head to head wasn't also dangerous. Usually however head to head means there is at least some dip or control so it's more likely to lead to mitigation. Shoulder to head generally happens in a more rec...

Re: Is there a pushback against the safety initiatives in Rugby
Persia’s head bounced back. There was force there. Not sure how you can argue otherwise. I'm not say there wasn't force by Petia, I am saying there was little if any force by JB as he was basically stationary. Huh Barrett gets his shoulder into Petaias head which then snaps back from the impact. If...

If you can't see the difference, I can't help you. I think Porter might be marginal red with the bunker but Barrett is clear red. They're not the same, not least because one was a shoulder to head and one was head to head. Porter clearly trying to wrap and yes soak whereas by definition it's not a ...

Re: Is there a pushback against the safety initiatives in Rugby
He hit a bloke that wasn’t dipping with a shoulder to his head - the player left the field for a HIA and didn’t return. Barrett did have his feet planted, but I’m not sure what your point is, planting your feet is a way to execute big tackles. He didn't drive into the player, he was basically stati...

Re: Is there a pushback against the safety initiatives in Rugby
It's not a SH problem, it's a NH problem with its soak tackle approach. Have a look at the video, Porter doesn't go low, direct contact with the head, yet its not a red card because no force, a NH soak tackle. Looks very similar to JB to me. He was his feet planted, with perhaps a small sideways sh...

Just looked at it there and I can see why the SH might have a problem if there's any complaints about that being red. It's a stone cold red and has been up here for years. No attempt whatsoever to go low, contact with the head, completely reckless. It's not a SH problem, it's a NH problem with its ...

Players don't (or shouldn't) get red cards for accidental high hits. They get red cards for going too high, recklessly, with force . If it was random then all teams would be getting red cards in equal measures and there'd be a random distribution amongst the players. This isn't the case. I agree th...

Great game, well played by both sides  Never thought the odds being offered were correct and the Reds proved me right. Would have been happy with the game being called a draw TBF. Well deserved Tahs
Very steady and (mostly) controlled, put a lot of pressure on the Saders and it paid off.
Saders...far from their best. New combinations definitely taking time to settle and unusually for them unable to lift the pace of the game when they needed to.
