Re: 2024 U20 Rugby Championship
Should have gone to SA. Would been great preparation for the WC 2024 will take place in South Africa from 29 June to 19 July 2024. Badly waterlogged grounds in SA last time. Will drainage be better this time? Dry year. They play in Craven Stadium this year. Boet rugby is a winter sport. Playing in ...

Re: Leinster's Saffer lock is on his way back to SA
He’s always struck me as a player lacking rugby nous. He’s a decent carrier but doesn’t run effective lines or make good decisions. He was a hockey player until his final year at school which probably explains that. He seems to have lost the pace he had as a youngster too.

Re: Leinster's Saffer lock is on his way back to SA
There is a lot to come from Jenkis. He is lucky and managed to stay injury free. He is one of the few players in World Rugby that can play at four, five, six (seven in SA) and eight. He is a great ball carrier. Sharks can field a mean pack with him and some others that are returning,. They already ...

Good lord, the state of that team  As pleased as I am to see so many $harks players, that could be the most disjointed Bok team ever fielded. Missing Koch at least from the locals. If the Japanese players are available there’s potentially the following to add; Marx De Jager Mostert Smith (inju...

The Sharks also have Jurenzo Julius who is highly rated. I don't like to see SA teams lose but seeing the Sharks this season and this type of recruitment does give me a smile. I don't think Rassie likes this type of recruitment either. He has talked about overseas clubs paying our best players wage...

Why wouldn’t they? I personally think most professional athletes are on something. If you’re paid for your physical performance, I don’t see why you wouldn’t. It’s safe in that controlled environment, it’s piss easy to pass a test (no pun) and it aids recovery. Also, if you’ve been working out long...

Of course it was a try. The ref/TMO possibly came to the only outcome they could have according to strict interpretation of the process but there should be room for some common sense.

You’re being painfully obtuse. The 1st, 2nd, 3rd…. choice players may not be world beaters (the bowlers are but you’ve neglected them in your analysis) but they’re ahead of the current group in the pecking order and very capable of getting a result in NZ. Seen this repeated a few times. Exact same thing happened to Bluey, the resident Clovelly groper, a while back. Speared in what’s basically an ocean pool. Also by a Kiwi (according to a Kiwi colleague of mine).
