RWC Bordeaux drinking holes
I’ve been on here under various names since 2001 and admittedly am more of a reader than a poster these days, however…. Later this year my home town ( Bordeaux) will be welcoming hoards of fans for the RWC, and being the owner of a couple of pubs I thought I’d pass on some drinking info. My two pubs...

In 2007 the Canadian fans were the biggest drinkers, followed by the Irish. I’m not fussed really. Just looking forward to some good matches and a big party.

I’m 54 and saw Metallica last weekend in Paris. The previous time I saw them was monsters of rock in the UK in 1984, I thought they were a bit quiet last week actually.

Re: Holiday homes in France
In the 30 years I’ve lived in France, 3 of the 4 properties I’ve bought have been derelict / unwanted by the locals. I’ve spent time and money doing them up ( keeping tradesmen and suppliers in business, one supplier even telling me that 80% of his customers were foreigners) In rural France it’s not...

Re: Civil War in France

We’d spoken to the police and taken appropriate precautions, extra security, no terrace furniture out etc and I spent all day going between the two pubs in the town center that were closest to any potential flashpoin...

I’ve dislocated 3x left and 2x right during my motorcycle racing days. My son did his 4 times last season ( including reaching to catch a ball in a pre meeting warm up and once being ridden over by a Danish rider in a meeting) As he’s early in his career I think an operation may be in order soon.

Like quite a few on here I’ve been aware of this threads existance and have popped in from time to time. I’ve been worried about my levels of drinking for a while now, Mrs Frog and I sometimes go two days a week alcohol free, but living in France ( wine!) and owning 3 pubs you can see that alcohol p...

I raced sidecars professionally for a few years in the 90s ( only longtrack/speedway ) but can totally understand why people race the island, it’s a totally different challenge from circuit racing. I have a friend who is riding the sidecar race at the TT this year for the first time, he’s studied th...
