Re: Lions Lions Lions
Not reading the whole thread and haven’t posted on here in a few years now, but wanted to recognise our weird internet obsession resulting in a group meet in Covent Garden for the first Lions test 12 years ago when we drank a few, laughed at North wearing Izzy like a backpack and shaved JB(?)’s hair...

Anyone watched Dirk Gently? 5 episodes in and really enjoying it...properly bonkers and pretty funny in places. Nothing like the books iirc (despite being a massive hitchhikers fan, the dirk gently ones never really made an impression). Season 1 or 2? Rewatched season 1 since it was so nuts I forgo...

His attitude pervades through the team. Take Beale’s yellow for instance, which was an obvious outcome to anyone that’s ever played the game, but Kurtley has the cheek to stand there arguing the toss before Cheika allegedly goes mental in the tunnel.

Thanks for the insights. When you say you have a "small" backs line I always associate that to incredible speed and fast pace change. I have the feeling this time that the Pumas instead of going for the open, lots of off loads, nice to watch but ineffective rugby, will go for a more cynical style, ...

The essence of 2nd team rugby in one image. https://i.imgur.com/5kLzGM1.jpg Being a 2nd or 3rd team Captain is the hardest job in Rugby. True. It’s a thankless task. However in this instance it was all good as a) I was miffed not to be picked in the first place, and b) it was a cup final and theref...

Retired at the end of last year, but got the batphone call on the first game of the season and, since then, have decided to keep going for a little longer. It's quite enjoyable in the lower merit leagues (even if the quality is a bit pony) as you see loads of ball and there are plenty of tries on of...

Anyone watched Narcos season 3? I can't bring myself to watch it really, it just seems so cynical to keep it going after the death of Escobar. Watch it. It's very good. The story continues with the destruction of the Cali Cartel. Edit: the end of S3 has left a very large Narcos shaped hole in my li...

Coles is nowhere near back to his level, the concussion saga has blunted his all round game. But he's a very different player to a Marx or a Creevy, which fits the ABs game plan perfectly when he's at his best. He destroyed the Boks last year in Christchurch with pure skill, but even he has never p...

If he gets to be as consistent as Creevy he'll do ok. Creevy through this RC has just been a total menace to opposition. Same comment. If he can just pile on them performances match after match after match after match... like Creevy, then he can be in the conversation for THE very best. Right now, ...

Re: Game of Thrones - Books/TV (Full of spoilers mark nothin
I'm not convinced the tv writing has tailed off (or that it was ever that good to begin with). Over the last two seasons, we no longer have the books to provide context and background so we are wholly dependent on the TV to provide the entire experience for which, as lots of people have commented on...

arya and jon are also able to WARG but weirdly, it has not been done in the tv show yet. Probably because its a plot that leads nowhere. The Direwolves in general seem like a plot that started out with good intentions and those intentions were almost immediately forgotten. Not sure about that. ADWD...
