Re: The Official and ONLY England v Ireland Match Thread
Yep. Better teams than this Ireland have lost to worse teams than this England Which match was that then? Ireland England 1993 England ireland 1994 That's so funny Ireland back then were at least as poor - yes But England 8 wins (including 2 against T2 opposition) and 5 losses get a grip 2004 (the ...

Re: The Irish vs South Africa rugby rivalry
We'll have a URC rivalry with SA but we don't play enough at international level. Our rivals are: Wales England France Scotland In that order People worry that when the sun dies that our light in this galaxy will end. The passion that I hate Wales with will burn so furious that that everyone will l...

Re: The Irish vs South Africa rugby rivalry
It’s a bit needy to create a rivalry that isn’t there However I kind of understand why because all the other old rivalries are fading England v France - dying because England are garbage Ireland v Wales - dying because Wales are garbage Wales v England - bit of a cripple fight Kiwi v Australia - dy...

Re: The Irish vs South Africa rugby rivalry
They need to take their rivalry* beyond the quarter-final stages for it to register in the Great Book of Ancient and Modern Rivalries. That's fair, but the Test series next year should be a cracker. It also gives Ireland a unique chance to hold ALL the silverware against Rugby Championship sides fo...

Re: Only 2 teams beat more than 1 good team at the RWC
Scotland have never even beaten NZ, they aren't a good team. Sorry Scots. Where as Argentina have beaten NZ home and away as well as South Africa, Australia and France and smashed a fancied Ireland out of the 2015 world cup...but not considered a good side by the OP. Hmmm Some day Arg will get a wi...

Re: Marx goooooooooone!
There was also the all-round shambolic performance from Willemse, who is not a 10 in a month of Sundays. Totally different game in general with Pollard. Agreed, but that's their backline for you. Skilful and zippy but flakey and small Apart from the 12s they roll out there like tanks That's where I...

Re: Marx goooooooooone!
Speaking of which, you can't go into another game with them kicking 50%. Would have won in Dublin if they landed most of the missed kicks. This is exactly the kind of game that needs Pollard. It would have been a draw if both sides kicked 100%. We left 4 points out there, they left 7. It wasn't thi...

Re: SA going to be to hot for Ireland?
NZ have played 25 knockout games, lost 7 - 1 QF, 3 SF, 1 F, 1 3rd place playoff. SA have played 17 knockout games, lost 4 - 2QF, 2 SF So it's just under a quarter for SA and just over for NZ. 3rd place playoff is not a knockout. Neither is a final then! So SA have played 13 knockouts and lost 4. NZ...

Re: SA going to be to hot for Ireland?
In Auckland, just last month, the Boks turned up underdone and were beaten well up front and out wide. Last weekend NZ were underdone and faced the backlash. I wouldn't be writing off Ireland at all. The Irish draw would suggest you're right, it would have been foolish to be firing on all cylinders...

Re: Ulster v Connacht - URC QF
This game should be a cracker, expect Connacht to have the edge at the set-piece but Ulster the edge at the breakdown, both backlines can be lethal. I think you’ve it the wrong way around. Ulster have a good set piece but can struggle at the breakdown. We'll see, should be a great battle in the mid...

Full house from all four teams this weekend. Fantastic effort by those in Safferland.   And Connacht are in the knockouts as well, though it would be really shite if they miss out on the HEC due to a Welsh team sympathy f*ck. Plenty of permutations but looking at the mos...

The fact i see is that you don't seem to be able to admit that there would be no queues in Dover if there were properly manned passport control by France. This single post explains Brexit. Modern day British (English and Welsh mainly) failings are best summed up by the Father Ted sketch with the bi...

Contrast this lack of sportmanship from the English boredies to the Kiwis last july, its pathetic.
Simple rule, if you are good enough to win which you're not, you take the ref out of eqution, otherwise you are just bad losers

If Ireland win next years test series in SA, they will hold all the relevant trophies against RC teams in series in their lands simultaneously. That would be ace!
