Re: Stupid laws world rugby have created in recent years
if all rucks were not straight off the feet you would get a lot more running rugby as the chances of chaos at the breakdown would be higher and people would throw the ball about more One or two more defenders might also contest a ruck that's actually contestable, pulling them out of the defensive l...

Re: Rugby NAMA thread Revisited Rugby
Story is very vague, which makes me suspicious. Is there a criminal case to answer for trying to extort money in exchange for dropping a planning objection In theory, but in practice it'd be implausible. As Nardol points out, all an accused person would need to do is make reference to interference ...

Every development can. It depends what is getting f**king built doesn't it. My source is the law. Should you compensate the developer if the development enhances the value of your property? Re: Stupid laws world rugby have created in recent years
It's called Law. You don't need to release over the try line, hence the call of held up. It's called stupid laws. Hence the thread. That doesn't make it a maul though. It's not stupid unless you don't understand rugby Laws. Once the ball carrier goes to ground in-goal, the ball is dead and the game...

On one side a resident wants compensation which is fair if he is impacted On the other we have the potential for extortion For me this case is not the latter. It's different when lads from carlow are holding up construction in Dublin, they are not impacted. This appears from the low on detail articl...

We are not evening mentioning rucks. Why bring them into this discussion. We are talking when the ball is off the ground. When a tackle is complete your supposed to release. Its only being brought up because you appear to think mauls are happening. It's called Law. You don't need to release over th...

When SF got closer to power they had to start substantiating some of there everyone gets everything they want and it costs nobody anything except the rich (whoever they may be). That didn't go well. I think it's probably deliberate and a direct command from army council HQ that nobody says nutthin. ...

Re: Why have Newcastle been so poor this season?
They don't really sell though. They just shed players at the end of contract or even mid contract recently. There's no windfall from it as there's not a transfer market to speak of in pro rugby. This too. It's not even good business to invest in youth as it is in Wendyball. Just ask Exeter with the...

Nothing unusual. They have been basement bargain bin for multiple seasons.
They don't bother fielding a team that can win any games because they don't spend a Lenny more than they have.
Which appears to be one.

Re: Stupid laws world rugby have created in recent years
If teams are held up in a maul in the field, they lose possession. It's great that the same thing happens when the ball is over the line. Generally if you lie under over and around the ball on the field of play you are penalised. If you do it in the danger zone cyclically you are carded on top. I w...

I like the drop outs. If you get held up, you've messed it up and you also prevent the 5 minutes of scrum resets that often followed. Don't have the stats clearly DOB, but genuinely think it forced teams like Exeter (who were Pick and Go RFC) into a rethink. Yeah it hasn't stopped it entirely obvio...

The held up over try line drop out.
The ruck - everything about it.
Try bonus structure. The French structure is the only one that makes sense.
Rowing back under keewee pressure on brain injury red cards
