Re: Steve Albini Appreciation Thread
In Utero was a sonic disaster, the biggest band in the world at the time deserved better than that shambolic demo level production. No it's not artsy maaaaan, it's lazy and stupid. RIP though. Abrasive in parts. There were a lot of "noise" songs on the album as Kurt referred to them. Not an unsurpr...

Re: Wallabies 2024 (2023 never happened)
When Super Rugby went professional in 1996, Queensland winger Damian Smith stirred up Queensland-NSW zeal at Ballymore with the most famous punch to miss its target in the history of Super Rugby. He was sent off for his rabid aggression when attempting to hammer rival winger David Campese’s head in...

Pleasing to see the Wright-for-captain bandwagon is gathering speed He doesn’t play for the Brumbies so not everyone will be on board but most of the rest don’t have any conflicts so can get behind this. I certainly can. I'm also behind not having any players from the Force or Rebels in the Wallabi...

Hi all, I hope you're all doing well! After some seriously impressive performances during the Six Nations Ireland certainly left an impression on the rugby world. So much so that it got me thinking about why their squad is so strong at the moment. So I made this short video breaking down and analy...

Re: League players are no good in Union
Tom Wright plays fullback and Peter Ryan was a blindside flanker. Ryan Cross played 13. Peter Ryan played a season for the Southland Stags prior to the Brumbies. He was solid, but obviously finding his feet in the game. As a league player he was voted hardest hitting tackler year in, year out. All ...

Yes but they can go for bigger money in League no? They wouldn't be getting much money from rugby contracts at that age, if any. I'd imagine most are on academy contracts? Sure technically, but I'm not aware of any if our u20s that have been picked up by league. Not necessarily at U20 but when they...

;) This is rather perplexing , but there's absolutely nothing anywhere in the NZ press this morning re Leo-Willie. Re: Queensland Reds vs Melbourne Rebels 11th May
I've never watched the Reds lose a game live. And that's going back to the 90's.
Admittedly, I usually only go to Reds matches when they play loser teams like those random South African teams, the Highlanders and the Crusaders but I stand by my strike rate.

Is it true that the referee team were all from QLD and all grew up wanting to play for the Reds? Crusaders won the penalty count 14-7 and it still not enough for you to take a loss on the chin. The won the penalty count by double and were awarded a try where the ball was clearly a couple of inches ...

Re: SRP - R11 Crusaders vs Reds Sat 4:35pm
Just finished watching the game. It's one of the joke Kiwi teams, but an away win is very nice. Thoughts: 1. Best game I've even seen Wilson play. He's very fit and is pulling off big plays in rapid succession. 2. McReight is the key to the Reds making a run in the finals. 3. Good from Thomas and C...

What are you talking about? He was arguably the best fullback in the world. His kicking was fine. His kicking was merely adequate. It was his biggest downfall. His biggest downfall is that he's a raging homophobic twat who hides behind his idiotic imported religious fundamentalism. But yeah, on the...

I'm WFH twice a week and I love it. I usually do tasks that require minimal interruptions so I can blast music etc while I work. The one thing that is taught well in league is tackling. I've seen some weapon juniors come across to union and their positional play and option taking isn't great but they fold cunce.

Agree w/- both points. Happy to see HMP back on board, tho’. On t’other hand, I’ll be at this game and I’m not much of an infallible good luck charm for the Red. Been to far to many losses and outright floggings. I’ve only been to one Reds game in NZ, and the Reds won it. I fear the universe may be...

So you think the weight figures are under-reported? Probably. When do they weigh them? Before every season? So if they are all under-reported, surely it's still valid comparing? Why would certain players be under reported by materially different amounts? They aren't under reported. They are just sp...
