Re: First bit of sh!t hits the fan for ARU - Daugunu refuses to play

Getting a little down a rabbit hole here on technicalities, but I think if it went to court, a side letter would be considered as a part of the offer. Contracts are made by an offer being accepted. It doesnt need to include a signed contract, that just makes everything a little easier, but its not ...

Re: First bit of sh!t hits the fan for ARU - Daugunu refuses to play

Like anyone coming to grips with insolvency, this guy has to suck it up. He's still getting paid to play & refusing to stand by his team mates only makes him look a prick. With an attitude like that other Super coaches may prefer to leave this guy in the wilderness. Except he's not. At least, not o...

Except he's not. At least, not on time. Isn't that kinda the whole point of the article? Can't pay me what you owe on time? I'm not going out there and risking injury, concussion, and my future health. Seems fair to me. I'm on the players' side, I'd do the same. He is being paid on time just like e...

Re: LIons tickets on sale

As the tickets appear to be selling very well, it might be that RA has got this one right. The tickets released thus far seem to be selling well. There is a 100% chance that the games will be all sold out, right? Ergo, the price is either correct or lower than market demand. This is how much elite ...

RA are trying to be a premium product but will struggle I feel. Its not big enough in Aus, and we are going to be relying on the B&I fans buying the tickets.

Good luck but it seems a joke.

Speaking to my friends, we just canned one of the three tests due to the price.

Re: Israel declares state of war

Yep. It's been very apparent to most of the world except for the US and UK that the Israel defending itself narrative cannot be defended. It's genocide as per the ICJ ruling - really quite simple. Anyone arguing otherwise is devoid of empathy. I dont think it helps anyone by calling it a genocide. ...

Re: Is there a pushback against the safety initiatives in Rugby

Yeah, like everything in life I don't think its a binary thing. Still have cards. Up until 5 or 10 years ago a red was only for foul play, ie stamping, eye gouging, punching. Even then players got away with a few punches. Punish the player don't punish the fans. Keep the yellow card bunker system, ...

Re: Is there a pushback against the safety initiatives in Rugby

He didn't drive into the player, he was basically stationary, all the force came from Petia as far as I can see, so not sure how you can say JB made the tackle with force. Persia’s head bounced back. There was force there. Not sure how you can argue otherwise. I'm not say there wasn't force by Peti...

Re: Is there a pushback against the safety initiatives in Rugby

Because an accidental red can happen in the 1st minute and then its 14 v 15 for the whole game. How is that fair on the people who paid money to go and watch? As for send off vs injured player being off, send the 'red carded' player off and replace him with a bench player. So we don’t have cards th...

Re: Is there a pushback against the safety initiatives in Rugby

Incidentally the Canes won on the weekend with 14 players for the last 1/3 of a game. Is it fair to the fans if Jordan Petaia is taken from the ground because another player used a poor tackle technique? It was accidental but Petaia is gone and he is a star of the game. Sorry but I don't think that...

Re: Is there a pushback against the safety initiatives in Rugby

I agree these should be the criteria for a red card but if I look at JBs red card it's hard to see there was any force by him, he pretty much seemed to have his feet planted, with Petia looking to smash through him, much more a NH soak tackle to me. He hit a bloke that wasn’t dipping with a shoulde...

Simply put, I don't think red cards are the way to deal with this. It punishes spectators as well as the player. Put them on report and hand down heavy bans instead. Then we need an overhaul of the whole system and go down the AFL path an get rid of cards all together then? Because if something is ...

Yeah I mean it's pretty obvious isn't it? Probably 95% of second marriages have at least one person who has previously been divorced. So much more likely to be candidates for another one.
