It's very hard to argue that POM is in better form than Ruddock but at his peak POM had many more strings to his bow as a player. Been a few years since we've seen it mind. Apart from the Autumn internationals where he played quite well... That one offload? A long way from Aus tour POM anyway.

The only reason I can see for giving POM a deal is if the strategy has changed, around using CCs to keep money off stretched provincial balance sheets, and the € is low.
