Re: Trans Tasman Comp will be best comp

Ali's Choice wrote: Tue Jun 22, 2021 11:26 am I'm struggling to believe that after everything we've been through in SR, Rugby Australia is demanding conferences so that the top Australian team is guaranteed to qualify for the final of TT in 2022.
They are pitching ideas. Any evidence anything is being demanded?

Re: Trans Tasman Comp will be best comp

Option 1: Increase the number of Kiwi teams. Taranaki plus Auckland based Pacific team will dilute our talent enough to make the 5 Aussie teams more competitive. Option 2: Remove any restrictions on player nationality in the squads, but only for countries in the competition. And also allow national...

As an aside, it's criminal how difficult it is to find player stats for rugby. Compare it to American sports, Football or Cricket and its appalling. That data is held by the union or comps, but bogarted for some reason. Well, line-out win % is a pretty solid one for our purposes I think. Could have...

Re: Trans Tasman Comp will be best comp

There is not a comp in the world that NZ could enter with 5 teams and not dominate. If you look at the European top 8 this year: Toulouse La Rochelle Leinster Bordeaux Exeter Sale Clermont Racing I don't think any of them would fare any better than the Reds and Brumbies. If anyone worked retail in their student days, I'd recommend Superstore - a light but funny sitcom that is clearly influenced by the (US) Office, Parks and Rec and Brooklyn 99. No big name stars, however America Ferrara is quite good in it.

It was disappointing but to suggest Saracens weren’t all that is bollocks. They played pretty much error free with a team of 12 Internationals who openly admitted they were coming there to kill this tie off after game one. 6 Lions all of whom played fantastically. One of the players had payed again...
