Re: SoupAU Rd 2: Reds v Rebels
Honestly, I was hoping the Reds would be down by 2 points in the final minute with a penalty in front, and McDermott takes the quick tap..... Unfortunately for the Rebels their bench was a rag tag bunch of ring ins... their front row was dominating the Reds there for a while, with Eloff working ove...

Anyone have a link to use overseas. My friend says his normal cricfree one is showing some South African rugby show bullshit. https://www.vipleague.cc/rugby-schedule-streaming-links No luck with it. Re: 6N in tatters?
Probably because all of the French current team have been exposed to Covid, and as has been demonstrated, testing negative doesn’t mean a player is negative and won’t test positive a few days later. Since the game is going ahead it’s not entirely out of the realms of possibilities that if one French...

Amazingly Galthié seems still determined to play and start training again Wednesday.
Although it could make for some fun psychological gamesmanship in the scrum. Just have one of the French props cough every time just as they are about to engage.

Pretty much everyone in the French team will have to be in self isolation, I assume not allowed to leave their hotel room, for 10-14 days from their last contact with any other team member or staff. So at least the next two matches. Hopefully they can rescheduled similar to what done last year.

Re: Dan Carter retires from pro-Rugby
I think Graham Henry has said McCaw was the GOAT. But for me it the GOAT in all positions was Dan Carter. I don’t think he was the best in any measure of a 10. But he was within the top 3 in all measures. The reason he was so good was because of his all round game. He didn’t have any weaknesses. Car...

How aggressively are Ireland testing? Pretty certain France will have to withdraw. The whole bubble concept goes out the window once someone is infected. Likewise if anyone in Ireland tests positive they are goners also. Wales to win 4N with a whole series of asterisks next to it

Prince Phillip was by far the best royal.
He was kind of like that dottering old grandmother we all had, who kept saying inappropriate, racist things, and we’d have to explain it away that she comes from a different generation, where people weren’t as aware.
But he was quite funny.

Re: Best and worst World Cup winning XV
Surely, for the worst list it has to be Donald Duck at number 10, who played the 2011 final at fly half. I’m pretty sure he was about 192nd in terms of preferred NZ fly halves, but everyone ahead of him had been injured by that point.

As far as the matter itself, it just seems like a bit of politicking from Jacinda. The Australian policy is pretty clear, there is no reason to make exceptions. The woman left Australia in 2014, and conceived her children in Syria and is now in a Turkish jail cell. While it is terrible for the child...

I’m not really sure why Oirish are beating themselves up about this. This is probably the strongest French side in at least the last two decades, and maybe longer. Re: That Jonny May try
In terms of dangerous play, my pet peeve is players purposely trying to jump over other players to field an up and under (box kick). It’s a win / win strategy. Either you catch the ball safely, and have the ball, or you fall over the other player contesting the ball and dangerously fall on your head...

Re: The multiplication of red cards in rugby because of the new laws about head tackling
Punish the player. Allow a forced sub to come on after 10-20minutes so the game is still a spectacle. And ban the player for long enough to reflect on their tackling ‘ clean out etc technique. Another benefit of this is that referees will be more inclined to give out reds for dangerous behaviour. T...

The cynic in me reckons that if the replacement option is undertaken, that opposition players of influence can be a target of foul play by a mad bomber roaring into rucks, head high decapitators, tip tacklers, et al.....all for playing with 14 players for 20 minutes.....and then reaping the reward ...

Thinly veiled "we're so good we can win averaging only 5.3 out of 10". When you're average, you're average. :smug: Or an admission that winning by the skin of your teeth against 14 players isn’t a great performance. Wales is my 6 nations team, but they have been riding luck in the red cards so far.

Referees. Wasn’t the disallowed Scottish try not obstruction because of a technicality?
The disallowed Scottish try. Shouldn’t that have been allowed on a technicality? I can’t find a replay, but the penalised player, I think no. 4, who was running in front of the player that scored, touched the ball before scorer and then the ball went backwards into the scorers hands. At the point, h...

Well you were ahead at 80 minutes I think, so a pretty impressive performance from what was essentially your B side. France could be scarily strong come World Cup time, with that amount of depth.

The thing with the whole “retail investors giving it to the hedge funds”, is that they are not. A couple of hedge funds have been hit very hard, but a lot of other hedge funds and traders probably joined in on the action based on volume of the squeeze, so are raking it in all the way to the bank.
