Re: Banning smoking - does it make sense?

Smoking age limit is 18 in the UK All advertising is banned in the UK. All packaging must be plain in the UK. I’m all for banning the thing all together. However the idea that something legal can only be sold to an adult age cohort that’s arbitrary is clearly ludicrous. It’s probably an excuse here...

Re: Banning smoking - does it make sense?

The UK already has one of the lowest smoking rates in the developed world, under 15% of people smoke, down from around 35% in 2000. That's considerably below the 20-40% range across most of the EU. The anti-smoking legislation passed during that time clearly had some effect. I would've preferred ha...

But the large playing base only came through with funding. Funding other unions didn't at all do. So England's dominance before 2019 was all just a happy coincidence while Canada is well known for their professional women's teams. Dominance? Couldn't disagree more. If you cross the line and can't get it down, you've failed horribly. You're lucky you don't have to return to your hospital of birth and apologise to your midwife for wasting their time. This. So much this. By definition the defending team did a better job than the attacking...

Re: Stupid laws world rugby have created in recent years

How about a 5m scrum? Do failed mauls see the attacking team with the scrum? It’s weird that some people claim to prefer watching 16 blokes slowly form a scrum then a big pig running the ball into traffic at speed from a dropout. What is definitely weird is that some people claim to enjoy rugby, bu...

Thinking about this the idea that the only good thing is ball in play i.e. in the hands of players running is the only "good" thing is wrong. It what lead to the lack of competition in the scrum, the scrum was meant to be a competitive restart where getting the ball against the head was possible. 20...

Currently Lay 19.4 states: Teams must be ready to form the scrum within 30 seconds of the mark being made. Sanction: Free-kick. Found that interesting. Worth saying that part of Russell's USP is that he is Scottish.
