Travel Advice: Melbourne

Hello everyone, long time no post but I'm hoping you guys can give some travel tips. Going to be going to Melbourne in late November for a couple of weeks for a wedding. We'll be in/around the city for the first week and then free to go further afield for the second week. We'll have a car and are up...

Re: The Training Thread - all aspects of fitness and health

Speaking of wiping off equipment, I was on the treadmill the other day ( ), some girl was on one a couple down the line from me. She finished up, went to get the spray and paper towels, came back and carefully and considerately wiped down the wrong treadmill.

Ahh, the ChadBot or something? Seen stuff on Instagram for it but never investigated.

I’m on the fence about getting a barbell medicine hypertrophy program. Lost all my strength during quarantine so I figure now is a good time to be a bit of a bro but in a vague powerlifting way.

Back in the gym a couple weeks now and the post-quarantine results are officially in -

Weight - down 20lbs (good % of that is fat)

Re: The Training Thread - all aspects of fitness and health

Went back to the gym this week and had my first leg day yesterday, feeling a bit sore today.

Had almost forgotten what it feels like to be properly tired after a session, laying in bed with your whole body tingling and barely able to keep your eyes open :o

Everything back open, including gyms, from today in my neck of the woods. Thinking I’ll stick with my backyard set up for a week or so and and see if case number jump or anything.

Re: The Training Thread - all aspects of fitness and health

I’ve given up any sort of structured training and am just putting together random upper and lower body sessions on my cobbled together equipment. Some mild weights feel very heavy :uhoh:

Lost the guts of 10kg since the start of the year so focusing on diet and cardio more than anything right now.

Only thing I’m missing right now really is pull ups, nothing really suitable to improvise with and my wife would murder me if I damaged a door frame with one of those contraptions

Re: The Training Thread - all aspects of fitness and health

Mine is consistently in the low-40’s whenever I happen to get it checked in the dr’s. I’m not very fit so asked about it last time and they said it’s fine, nothing to worry about. I do tend to get quite cold at times when sitting under a fan or AC vent, when my wife or coworkers sitting next to me w...

Re: The Training Thread - all aspects of fitness and health

Managed to pick up a rickety old bench, a barbell and about 200lbs if plates yesterday. The guys we got the bar and plates from make a living from buying out old gyms and reselling the equipment. They said it’s been crazy with the demand from people, they’re trying to still give fair prices but stil...

Was actively trying to cut fat so weight was trending down anyway, but muscle has fallen off me lately as I’ve lost access to proper weights. Pushups only go so far :(

Logistics - market is pretty chaotic right now and I work for a relatively small player but should be able to weather it. Biggest roadblock I’ve run into so far is customers with nothing to ship as it’s all stuck in China

Reading Floppy’s experiences has set something gnawing at the back of my mind. I am a permanent emigrant and my brother and sister are both living abroad for the next few years at the very least. The thought of one of my parents coming down with a debilitating illness and none of us being there for ...
