Re: All Blacks V England RWC Semi Final Match Thread.

All blacks conceded the forward battle right from the start, trying to play the wide game.
Has failed badly.
They need to actually use the forwards to make space.
Lots of time.

England forwards simply destroying the ABs can only hope they run out of steam.

Re: RIP the internal combustion engine!

Saw an article the other day saying that some British guy had invented a new electrolyte for Al-air batteries. Could be a game changer, but stiffly resisted by the motor industry who've invested in li ion tech no doubt. Ultimately I think Al-Air or Li-Air is the holy grail. Li-Air is supposed to be...

Re: RIP the internal combustion engine!

Interesting that Dyson canned their planned electric car, stating that it wouldn't be commercially viable. A little worrying for those predicting a major shift away from ICE to motors. I think this mostly relates to how difficult it is to be profitable as a car manufacturer rather than the pros/con...

I'm please to see the ABs have gone away from kicking it straight across field.
Used to piss me off royally when the winger caught it completely flat footed and giving the opposition the chance to run onto an intercept already at top speed.

Re: Nigel Owens yellow card

It was completely cynical but didn’t seem to break any laws. He was certainly onside which was what he got yellow carded for. He also had his back to the ball runner, so it’s hard to argue he was attempting a tackle. A tenuous argument could be that by putting his body between the ball carrier and ...

Re: Nigel Owens yellow card

If the base of the posts is the equivalent of the tryline then it is not a "held up" ingoal situation. That means Todd's action is the equivalent of flopping down in the field of play in front of the tryline. Against the spirit of the game. Having goal post obstructing a player from getting under t...

I hope Japan can maintain and build off this result. It would be great to have more nations competing with the traditional powers How is that going to happen given they have no regular test matches against Tier 1 nations? There's a pretty obvious opportunity for both Japan and the All Blacks here. ...

Both Wales and Ireland need to re-discover attacking rugby.

France snatching defeat from the jaws of victory.

Yup, very good reffing performance. Aus will feel rightly hard done by on a couple of non calls for holding on which other refs would have pinged England for. But that’s his style and not a criticism. Pretty good, but seems to let players fringe a hell of a lot. Definitely does no favours to teams ...
