Because they can't be arsed to police it the whole game. The idea is that pinging something once makes everyone think twice about doing it, but it doesn't really work with feeding.gazmog wrote:why was that not a feed?

Re: Bath v Saints
This match shows just how much a team's gameplan changes based on the referee. As a late replacement, Carly pinged Saints off the park for holding on against Saracens. Usually they barely commit to the defensive ruck but today there's 3 there every time making sure the Bath backrow don't get a sniff.

Re: Bath v Saints
Foden hasn't been the same player since Ashton left Saints, but since he came back from his last injury he really has been woeful. He should still travel with England but frankly even Alex Goode is looking a much better bet to play at fullback in a test match than him. Foden carried on being good f...

Re: Bath v Saints
I'm usually a bit more optimistic about our chances, but head and gut say Bath by a little bit thanks to home advantage. Saints won't go very far at all at the back end of this season if we don't get the majority of Hartley, North, Corbisiero, Day and Dickson back in time to get some form. Foden rea...

I watched a rare bit of rugby last week when I caught a bit of the premiership highlights programme, and saw Yarde score a long-range try against Saints that was disallowed. Despite the length of the score and the commentator's "they won't catch him" hyperbole, he appeared to be moving through toff...

As is more or less always the case, top candidates are SANZAR, France and England. Ireland and Wales may upset things but little if any chance of winning it all. Of course we're forgetting that Scotland have declared they are making a concerted run at it... Yet Ireland and Wales have been more succ...

But with the additi...

I remember the first time this was posted, I looked up the 'source' for the UK one. Turns out the author had gone to wikipedia, opened the article 'list of fascist movements by country' and counted them. 50 splinter groups of the national front. Not a clever bloke, evidently.

Cracking day out that. Great to see Allianz Park sold out and noisy. Thought we were much the better side for 60 minutes, but you can't afford to go a man down against a side like Saints. Also think that, like the pasting we took at Franklins Gardens, todays game won't mean much if we end up meetin...

God I hope this never makes it to referendum. I'm starting to think that the detestably stupid portion of the population that wants to let Farage catapult the country back into the 70s might be motivated enough to pass it.

Hartley's disciplinary record is long and includes incidents of eye-gouging, biting and punching, as detailed here: April 2007 - Banned for 26 weeks for eye-gouging Wasps forwards James Haskell and Jonny O'Connor. March 2012 - Banned for eight weeks for biting Ireland forward Stephen Ferris in a Si...

Re: Is it all over with England for Hartley now?
Basically, the scrum ended with Tom Youngs on top of Hartley with both his hands in his face, one of them in his mouth. Looked like a case of 'He bruised my knuckle with his face'. You saw more than the TV then. They showed a replay of it at the time, seemed pretty clear what had happened. Much as ...

Why wasn't there time for the last lineout....still time on clock when ball went into touch? There was time, but Barnes didn't want to take it. Cockerill doing a lap of honour for some reason. Disappointing result, but on the balance of play you reckon that if the two meet in the knockout stages Sa...
