Re: The Official Irish Rugby Thread
At 21 Casey is already looking like a guy with 30 international caps under his belt.
Cooney is great in his role with Ulster, but there isnt huge value giving 20 caps to a 30 year old at the expense of younger guys.

Extremely unlikely.rialtoblue wrote: ↑Tue Dec 01, 2020 12:14 pm What odds on Byrne jnr. overtaking his brother for the bench spot?
Ross Byrne will be involved despite not being anywhere near the standard required. I'm no huge fan of Burns, but he has been a huge step up on Byrne.

Conway hasn't been great since the break. That said, up until then, he had been the best back 3 player in the country over the last 24 months.

Zebre player pulls a Glasgow and tries to end Casey's season with a late shot to the knee.
That should be red and a long ban, but it won't be. It's an attempted career ender.

Re: The Official Irish Rugby Thread
The winners in this series could well be the guys who weren't there. The covid closed shop squad meant that the provinces could give developing players a good run. Coombes, Casey, Healy, Penney, and a few more have had a good run and proved their worth. Some of the senior players will not be return...

Lowe should not be there. As previously mentioned I hate the concept of poaches, but would now question Lowe's committment. Yes he was not playing yesterday afternoon, but instead of supporting his teammates by watching the match he went to the beach. He couldn't be arsed to chase back and stop Dal...

My understanding is all the negativity around him starting for Ireland has really got to him. Quelle surprise. It is mostly driven by the scarf wearing super fans who want to pretend they were watching rugby when Gunty mauled 29 players 100 yards down the pitch to have us beat Wales 4 points to 3, ...

Naming him captain when he was playing poorly was a poor mistake. Continuing to start him and keeping him as captain is a bigger mistake.
Ryan has been the worst of Ireland's locks by a non-insignificant amount over the last few weeks.

Is James Ryan on the pitch today?? Made a forward pass early on in the 2nd half. Very quite though. Get Bealham off. Ryan doesn't seem to engage with the ref at all. Herring doing the talking. Henderson doing some talking too. Ryan is a bit of an empty jersey this season so far; a shadow of the pla...

John Ryan on Apparently he is one of the strongest scrummaging tightheads in the Northern hemisphere. Why does he often sit on the bench behind Archer? There's more to TH play than scrummaging alone. There's also how you want to structure your team over 80 minutes. Anyone with an iota of rugby know...
