Re: The Official Irish Rugby Thread

Yeah I have to admit the whole Warren Gatland losing streak has me slightly rooting for the Boks. My money will be on Wales though. They surely cant lose another. Dont really care about England / Aus. I like the way we're in 3rd though so whichever result is best for us in that context! Only result...

 what a ridiculous fucking analogy!

anyway, i've met enough people who've played before who are completely clueless about the game - even down to what what the actual rules are.

Christmas present ideas

Any good christmas present ideas? I have to get something for my girlfriend, but honestly the bigger problem is thinking what I want myself, If I want something I just end up buying it myself so it leaves me a bit screwed when someone asks what I want as a present. Anyway it could handy to add any i...

Re: Mark Hammett, Welsh rugby and NH fitness levels

Back on the OP. I'm really not sure there is massive evidence for a fitness gap between England at least and the big three. By the end of the recent test SA looked physically gone and were starting to miss shit loads of tackles (they finished with 22 missed tackles at only a 85% completion rate). L...

I had forgotten that Henshaw's excellent take was part of that passage of play. Who was outside to Sexton ? As if the offload had worked it's likely we'd have been camped on their line at the very least. Its Kearney Probably try time then, as Sexton is excellent at making space and standing up a ma...

Any one see Matt O Connor on against the head last night. He was asked about Madigan and what he thought of him at 12. He said “that he wasn’t sure if he was good enough for a test 12″. That’s an awful thing to say about a player on the team that he coaches. He really doesn’t like Madigan. Read tha...

Earls has pace, which apart from Zebo is something we are really missing. He's also technically very skilled, I'd have him on a par if not ahead of Zebo. Earls at his best would be up there. The main thing Schmidt would take issue would be running away from support/not being aware of support. Somet...

I can see France having one or two excellent games in this years 6N and then falling apart in the rest of them. A lot depends on who they decide to turn up for! I don't think England are in the crisis their press are making out, they've lost to a few times to NZ and SA, that's noting to be ashamed o...

Some outrageous skills from the Ozzies yesterday. I hope they arent too knackered when they play next week. Didn't think D'Arcy had a bad game at all. Didn't have any time on the ball when he was getting tackled early and I don't remember him making any bad decisions otherwise. Not to say the other...

I have to say I do think ye are trying a bit too hard justifying the number of poaches we've had over the past few years lads. I'm not the biggest fan of the project player system, but until the IRB change the residency rules they are there to be exploited. And to be honest, if it gives players like...

Fark I hope Speight shows what he can do. The wallabies have some serious strike power but Ireland look a lot more organised and settled. It's going to be interesting to see how Ireland play the game. Last year they made the mistake of kicking it to Folau. They might go nuts with ball in hand like ...

I guess what I was trying to say is that I think the idea that there's an ARU directive on not kicking the ball is bullsh!t.

Australia want to win games and will use whatever tactics suit them.
