Savage banter... Aw come on. Maybe it's because he's always been compared to the likes of O'Connell, Retallick, Toner etc? Granted he spent 5 years perfecting the art of accidentally falling on the wrong side at the tackle and gurning, and he's had to reinvent himself. But I don't understand ...

And the best part of it is, it's always reasoned and measured - painted as querying a decision politely. It's never shouty or angry, or showing signs of frustration. Just politely chipping away at the referee, as it should be done. Contrast that with a Sexton as captain of Ireland, or Farrell as ca...

Can we still make the quarters? I think so, I haven't looked at the rules but guessing by looking a the tables it looks like it's top 2 and 2 best 3rd place from the 3 pools to make the quarter finals. Probably all the top 3 in pool A will qualify and 3rd and 4th in Pool B are poor. So it comes dow...

Re: The Official Irish Rugby Thread

SA played a very structured game, I wonder did they try and match Ireland's tactics.

It was bit unfortunate, there were too many stupid penalties given away for going off feet etc, though Conroy's one for rolling was a bit harsh. Still, if they cut those out they can come good.

Get Murray on IMO. Lions are hardly going to be playing a fast paced game, it's going to be cagey and defense and kicking are important.

Not sure what can be done about the Bok back row that are destroying us though. I don't think AWJ should be playing for a start though. Itoje looking good though.
