Re: The future of the 'black box'?
There's a model in place already from shipping through LRIT and AIS. There the control lies with the flag State and you have a minimum six hour transmission of your LRIT data. What's the equivalent of the flag State for airlines? Presumably ICAO will be looking at mandating an equivalent system in ...

Re: The future of the 'black box'?
I think we should just make planes that never crash, eliminating the need for 'black boxes' entirely. Having more detailed telemetry and navigation data being transmitted more regularly and reliably to a central location would be easier and more functional than a FDR strapped to the side of the air...

Might as well use this thread for this question. With my shiny new HTC One M8 due to be delivered tomorrow, I have a quandry regarding the expandable storage. Simply put, do I go for the 64GB or the full 128GB? There's a fair old jump in price between the two (Amazon have a deal on a 64GB micro sd ...

Both those bits of law were brought in to stop a tactic that was seen as too dangerous. They are of historical interest, but people keep trying to claim they fit varous situations in the modern game. These days the wording should be strictly interpreted, not expanded. dread to think of the mayhem a...

Used to do that all the time and never waited till the ball was tapped. Three guys stood in a line, the middle one, slightly ahead, with the ball. Cavalry charge was once given against the opposition in an U14s game. It was the first and only time I've ever seen it. You can run once the ball is tapped, but not before. there was a 70's tigers move called 'pinball', basically every big lump in the pack gathered close to the ball, as if ready to...

thought the flying wedge was stopped because, a) the guy at the thin end of the wedge was very prone, and b) if done well is a massive unfair advantage to the attacking team, iirc, the welsh clubs were the first to use these tactic in the early 80's, its was like starting a rolling maul with a runn...

Apparently they've picked it up twice. Would they be able to triangulate from that? It wouldn't be directional so you'd have the same north/south corridor conundrum from the initial satellite data. It should narrow things down at least, and it is far less likely to be from other meaningless garbage...

So so ridiculously harsh. Not deliberate at all, should have been yellow. Why don't people understand that the motivation of the player means the square root of fudge all.
