Re: The OFFICIAL English and European Football (soccer) thread
I am starting to think this might be one of those seasons where a team nobody thought had a hope of winning the PL might actually do it. Maybe it might be worth putting a bet on someone like Everton to actually do it. Just imagine the Liverpool supporters if Everton had to do it.  Ev...

COME ON WEST HAM      That was earnt by West Ham. That wasn't a collapse. I've watched them do this at Arsenal as well. Seriously hard working and awkward team to face. They. Just. Keep. Coming. I agree. They've made big improvements this season. A little more firepower and...

There is 35 weeks until the Lions tour is scheduled to start. 9 rounds of European rugby, 24 rounds of English rugby, 6 Autumn internationals, and whatever happens with 2021 6N. How could anybody expect the Lions tour will go ahead as planned?

Rather than get mangled up in the SR thread, this one is a bit of clear air to focus on this particular subject I like the look of this news. Badly needed win for United. Rashford a lot better as striker. He was very good this evening. Mata i think was the difference. A lot more creativity tonight. Newcastle very poor. Just sat back and didn't put any pressure on United Mata had instant chemistry with Bruno when he joined. They fit each ...

You might be the only bloke in Australia getting value out of Foxtel. Surprised you have the requisite time for all that. After sport I watch a couple of movies a week, and thats it. I don;'t watch much TV at all, but when I do I watch mainly Foxtel. I think you need to get rid of it and find shows...

I'm not wedded to Rugby staying on Foxtel, they have taken Rugby for granted for years and treated it like a 3rd rate sport. But at least they cover all of the Rugby, SR, all tests, the RC, 6N, NZ Mitre 10 Cup etc. As a Rugby fan they provide all the content I want. I will have to pay more under th...

Saturday evening FTA game into every household in Australia, and subsequent access to the sponsors that delivers. Fans would still need to subscribe to Stan to follow their team. It would - but so is the gap between $285m and $150m. What value is BSKYB or equivalent? Given the likely revenue knock anyway the 10 option is marginally more likely to grow the game (there is no mention of NRC, Origin etc so not sure how grass roots this is) vs. Foxtel etc. I think this value in ...

Tate has to start at 9, and it can't be JOC at 10. He is a hardy little bastard, but he cannot orchestrate a backline. Toomua at 10, JOC at 22. Simone will offset a lot of Toomuas limitations, and you're much more likely to get some fluency in the backline.

RWC should only ever be played in near perfect weather conditions, and should be moved to the best time of year depending on where its being hosted.

You'd be foolish to write off any of the older Irish players. All class, and they've had a huge break to rest their bodies that they've basically never been afforded before. I expect Sexton, Murray, and POM to return to something like their previous best after all this.

I watched a decent bit of Bundesliga football while the PL was off and it's clearly a better league without crowds. The technical ability of players even down nearer the bottom of the league is far better most teams outside the top 4 or 5. La Liga is boring as fcuk with no crowds also. I enjoyed Bu...

Was chatting to my local brewer last weekend when I picked up this week's supply. Although he'd only started about 12 months ago, he'd managed to get a pretty good foothold in the local pubs - enough so that he was making a decent living. What he did was create an amazingly rich universe filled with intrigue. TBH if they made a TV show about the goings on of Tom Bombadill I would definitely watch it. As long as they stick to the high fantasy style and don't try to make it something with more mass appeal, it'll be good.

The annoying/weird thing about Connacht is they haven't been able to produce some raw gigantic humans. So it seems a lot of the japanese stuff isn't actually whiskey at all. You'll have to elaborate.
