Re: Superugby to be reduced to 16 teams?
Chris Dutton in the Canberra Times post match report mentioned that Sanzaar are going to announce an 18 team three conference structure tomorrow. Georgina Robinson from the Hurled and SA Rugby Magazine of course reckon that it will be a 15 team competition with the Force, Kings and Cheetahs being c...

Re: MATCH OF THE ROUND: Brumbies v. Reds
What a lot of these geriatric old club faithful fail to grasp is that Australian rugby can't sustain them without the Brumbies. As long as going to the wrong school or playing for the wrong club puts you out of the running for a Waratahs spot, the country's best professional rugby nursery will be n...

No, clearly you don't. Which is why your parochial lensed view cannot grasp the fact that the brumbies are currently part of the problem , not the solution, for rugby in this country. Sweet fisted irony... I know right. A died in the wool leather patch GPS/Sydney Uni/Tahs fan telling me I'm p...

I was pleasantly surprised by the Hurricanes scrum. The Waratahs boasted an all-Wallaby tight five, yet were well beaten at scrum time tinight across the 80 minutes. No-one will be happier than me if Jeffrey Toomaga-Allen can emerge as a genuinely world class THP, especially with Faumuina leaving N...

I think stopping the clock for scrums would be a disaster, because it would be a license for teams to slow the game down. You'd have routinely have five minutes breaks for every scrum. I can imagine the unfit NH teams dragging out every scrum when playing the All Blacks, particularly late in games ...

This might not be popular.... but from a broadcasting perspective, cut to a 15 second ad when the scrum is called and clock stopped. They'll f**k love that.
